The Musical Genius of Marcus Bovre...will be missed.

After I just posted some of my old Cable Access 4, John & Gordy Media World stuff, showcasing Marcus Bovre's live performance way back when, my partner on the show Gordy Young called and mentioned the Isthmus's Daily Page; Marcus past away after a two year battle with a cancerous brain tumor.
Madison singer, songwriter, friend to many and devoted family man Marques Bovre passed away Monday morning. His two-year journey with a cancerous brain tumor was handled with courage, intelligence, wonder, humor, respect and irreverence; the same kinds of things his songs explored and revealed in life.

His wife, Tracy, asks for some time -- an undefined amount of time -- to process the current and the next series of moments for herself and her family.

"Marques passed away early this morning (around 1:15)," she writes. "I don't know anything yet about details of what the next steps will be, and will try to keep you posted. Right now, I am trying to keep things quiet and family oriented in regards to visitors. Thank you to everyone for the support and kindness that have been shown to us."

Don't miss part 2, posted at John & Gordy's Media World.
