Add to that list, Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke, who actually believes the tea party fruit cakes that the next civil war will be all about guns. Well, bring it on.
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Dan Bice wrote this;
Dan Bice: Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. went on a conspiracy-peddling radio show this week and warned of a second American Revolution if cops have to enforce extreme gun control measures.
Clarke made his remark during a 20-minute appearance on (a) syndicated show hosted by national radio host Alex Jones, best known for his anti-government views and conspiracy theories on everything from fluoride to the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Glenn Beck recently dubbed the Texas-based talker a "crazy person."
Clarke said he would not seize anybody's guns even if ordered to do so by executive order. "First of all, to me that would be an act of tyranny," Clarke said. "So the people in Milwaukee County do not have to worry about me enforcing some sort of order that goes out and collects everybody’s handgun or rifles or any kind of firearm and makes them turn them in. The reason is I don’t want to get shot. Because I believe that if somebody tried to enforce something of that magnitude, you would see the second coming of an American Revolution, the likes of which would make the first revolution pale by comparison."
On Wednesday, Clarke offered no apologies for going on Jones' show … stood by his statements … about the possibility of another American Revolution over guns. "I’m sure in 1776 that idea seemed way out there, too, at the time," the sheriff wrote. "The American people will decide when to push back, not me."
