Republicans Block Vote to Force WEDC to Follow Law.

Rep. Peter Barca’s no flame thrower, so when he has to step out and accuse Republicans of letting WEDC continue to break the law, you know something is very wrong. From what we've seen in the past, our rogue Republican legislature doesn't feel any obligation to obey the law.

Will voters continue to go along with this out-of-control Walker Authority? So far, conservative voters are still in the dark, shielded by the conservative talk media filter.

Peter Barca shot out this press release:
Today Democrats pushed for Gov. Walker’s scandal-plagued jobs agency to do a simple
thing – follow the law and create a committee tasked with holding the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) accountable to the taxpayers.

Assembly Republicans voted against (that) measure … Barca said, “Last week’s audit uncovered significant waste, illegal activity and abuse at WEDC. Yet when Republicans look for illegalities, they focus solely on going after programs that help struggling families. Now Republicans on the Joint Finance Committee are planning to vote this week to spend tens of millions more on WEDC without first trying to address or solve any of these ongoing problems. This is a slap in the face to the taxpayers of Wisconsin.
Actually, they're accomplices to a crime.

  1. This is the first post on your blog that I agree with you on. The WEDC needs to go.
