15,700 jobs created in the private sector (preliminary) in January. See, Scott Walker has created jobs. Or
at least that’s what they’ll pound into our heads over and over for the next
month. And to think, all those jobs were created in this atmosphere of recalls and political
uncertainty. Guess that talking point won't work anymore.
All together, he’s only created 4,000 jobs since May of
2011, if the January numbers hold up, which they might not. But June of 2011 was Walker’s big month, right? Not
anymore.

And instead of gaining a few thousand jobs in all of 2011, Walker actually lost 9,700. Those are the final numbers.
Technically, Walker saw no gains and
lost jobs during the last 7 months of 2011.
The state's unemployment rate declined to 6.9% from 7.0% in December. The January numbers were the best in at least a year, according to data in the latest state jobs report. Overall, however, the latest jobs report was mixed because it included heavy revisions to monthly jobs data for last year. In an annual process called "re-benchmarking.From Channel3000:
John, you are incorrect. It's much worse than that, as we lost over 20,000 jobs in 2011, and are still in the hole since the end of 2010.
ReplyDeleteEven worse, we're nearly 53,000 jobs behind what we should be, given the growth in the rest of the nation. This is all on Walker, and you're more than welcome to use the charts.
And oh yeah, look for another 200,000 jobs added in the U.S. for February.
