Republicans in Assembly try to get rid of analysis to see if public workers are cheaper than private contractors.

Does this legislation make any sense to anyone, even fiscally conservative voters:

The Assembly approved a bill, 58-35, that would end the requirement that the Department of Transportation do an analysis of whether private consultants are cheaper than state employees before bidding out engineering work. The Senate did not pass that bill, so the department will have to continue doing the analyses.
