After enduring an endless campaign by state Republicans that recalls are a waste of taxpayer money and absurd to launch over just one issue, Republicans are pursuing the recall of Rep. Bob Jauch for not doing one thing, rubber stamping a proposed iron mine in his district.
Hey, that’s just one issue, isn’t it? Never letting their hard and fast rules for everyone else get in the way, the well-oiled and experienced GOP recall machine is just getting started:
jsonline: Shirl LaBarre of Hayward filed paperwork Friday creating the Exploratory Committee to Recall Bob Jauch and said she would launch a full-blown recall drive if people in the area feel Jauch isn't supportive enough of mining legislation that could lure a massive proposed mine to Ashland and Iron counties. Also involved in the recall effort is Northern CRG, which is affiliated with Citizens for Responsible Government. CRG led the 2002 recall drive in the midst of the Milwaukee County pension scandal - a situation that put Scott Walker in charge of Milwaukee County and gave him a launchpad to successfully run for governor in 2010.
"I'm puzzled that a group from Milwaukee would want to get involved," Jauch said. "They don't want to help the north. They just want to meddle in the politics of a district they know nothing about."
Of course Jauch knows this is meant to pressure him into voting for the mine, regardless of the environmental impact. You’ve got to hand it to business, they don’t cede control to anyone.
Of course but way up on Lake Superior most are not in favor of this bill and this is the first mining company they want to release regulations to serve.

Just one issue? ONE? You have got to be kidding. This recall should have happened years ago.
