Our Dumb Senator: Wisconsin Consumers Win, their representative in the Senate, Ron Johnson, Sides Against Them.

All American consumers actually won, but locally, voters in Wisconsin might have expected some kind of representation in Washington that would have advocated their side of the issue. Ron Johnson missed that message, or just got mixed up. He's our confused dumb senator.

Instead of siding with consumers and small businesses (big too), Ron Johnson decided to vote in favor of stalling a law from taking effect that would lower debit card fees charged by the Big Banks. The money Big Banks save processing checks wasn’t enough to stop them from crying alligator tears over the new lower capped fees. The list of the injured; Visa Inc., rival MasterCard Inc., the largest debit card issuers, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Citigroup Inc. and Capital One Financial Corp.!

Boo hoo?
jsonline: Republican Ron Johnson was among the 54 senators on the losing side (of Senate vote). “It’s an awful vote,” … he said merchants have a legitimate complaint, but he said the new cap is “imposing a price-fixing solution.” Johnson said.  “I hear from both (sides). I agree with both of them. They’re both right. They’re both wrong. That’s not me being wishy-washy.  That’s the fact of the matter. This is not a solution.”
So Johnson sided with the Big Banks. That was dumb, and easy. Ron Johnson’s free market solution; posting tiny signs informing consumers of the retailers fee, allowing them to decide whether or not to use their debit card (on one standard fee, what a choice?), along with a retailers right to choose among the TWO Big Bank providers. Another big choice.
Johnson said: “A real solution will involve transparency of fees to the consumer, the ability of retailers to post fees and be selective in the acceptance of cards.”
This "by default" business owner, through marriage, is really one of the dumbest Senators ever elected by Wisconsin voters.

Note: Isn’t it funny Republican oppose listing food ingredients and nutritional values on containers and restaurant menus, but don’t mind posting multiple warning signs that in effect protect big bank profits?

  1. Calling Sen. Sunspot "dumb," is unfair to dumb people.

The right and left both understand how bad Wall Street is.

    Can we recall RoJo?
