To make his point, Democratic Rep. Mark Pocan attempted to make a bet with Republican Rep. Robin Vos over what taxpayers are more willing to do; check the box for a voluntary campaign contribution on their income tax return, or check the box for a junk mail tax break for big business.
Vos tries hard but whiffs with nonsequiturs, when he compares voluntary campaign contributions on your income tax return, to "growing government" and "taxpayer subsidies for this" and that. Plus, the voter ID bill is paid for by the remaining money in the public campaign fund for clean elections, an irony not missed by Pocan.
