The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is impressed with Scott Walker’s amazing success…success? Doing what?
But that didn’t stop the Chamber from stroking their pay to play governors with a cheap celebration and junket.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker returned Monday to the nation’s Capital to tout his administration’s policies at a Governors Summit hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The event coincided with the release of a study titled “Enterprising States: Recovery and Renewal for the 21st Century,” which aimed to “highlight successful state strategies for job creation and economic growth.”
While nothings really happened yet, except for a number of jobs created by his predecessor, the actual policy of expanded corporate welfare masked as “job creation” won Walker praise.
Chamber president and CEO Thomas Donohue said the governors were selected for their records of achieving successful results through bold action.
I guess the success of luring Fat Wallet to the state at the expense of an internet sales tax that would bring in gobs of money and put local businesses on a level playing field is a big win for Walker. But can we afford this kind of “success?”
