Sly in the Morning got the inside scoop about the arrest of Walker friend and confidant, Tim Russell, and the stolen vet money. Sly’s Office:
John Weishan Jr., a Marine veteran, laid out how the veterans' event at the heart of the recent John Doe corruption probe was part of a larger scheme by Scott Walker to use taxpayer resources for personal political gain. Weishan also described how Scott Walker's former chief of staff was forced to go to investigators only after vendors complained about being shaken down during Walker's 2006 bid for governor. This conversation will tell you a lot about the win-at-all-costs style of Walker and his fellow Republican thugs. Walker wanted to co-op the whole feel good event. And when things went wrong, Walker turned his colleagues in. Not only did Walker's close friend steal the money they raised from the vets fund, Operation Freedom, but Walker at the same time was cutting veteran services.
Mr. Weishan seems a reputable, reasonable guy whose word, given his proximity, should be given some weight.
