Gov. Scott Walker’s really good friend and confidant likely shares Walker’s approach to politics; crooked.

Republican voters will still follow Scott Walker off the cliff. Fine. And they can also all be tarred and feathered with the same criminality emanating from the governors office.

Tim Russell wasn’t some nameless Walker worker bee over the pasted 20 years. He was a friend of Walker's, who shared stories and ideological rants. Walker and Russell, “birds of a feather.” Russell is alleged to be a crook, and conservative media is tying itself into a pretzel doing everything it can to ignore the reality of the crime, and Russell’s association with Walker.

But guilt through association is one of the Republican Party’s biggest political ploys, especially against Democrats. Turnabout is fair play, and in this case, Walker is guiltier than ever.
jsonline: Tim Russell, 48, was known at the courthouse as one of Walker's top lieutenants as he moved in and out of campaign jobs, posts in Walker's county office, other county jobs and his own real estate business. He worked on Walker's campaigns for county executive but also popped up in informal roles on campaigns of conservative County Board candidates who had Walker's support.

Russell was hit with criminal charges alleging that he had embezzled $20,000 from a veterans support organization account that Walker had entrusted to him. Russell lost his west side Milwaukee house to foreclosure last year. The criminal complaint against Russell says he used money embezzled from the veterans group to help pay for trips to Jamaica, Hawaii and Atlanta.

How could an upstanding fiscally conservative inner circle Republican like Russell, find himself in foreclosure, even after stealing $20,000? Because Russell, like many conservatives, are really bad at economics in general.  And the myth that they can be trusted with money is turning out to be just another flim flam.
