Fed Ex and U.P.S. use our Postal Service for much of their Home Delivery, because they can't do it cheaper!!

For all of you conservatives that hate getting mail, and hate the constitutionally guaranteed existence of the post office; here’s something to think about when the post office is downsized or gone, and you start whining about the high cost of shipping things via UPS and Fed Ex…you were warned!!!
NY Times: The jump in e-commerce purchases has pushed FedEx and U.P.S. to come up with new services, analysts said. For instance, both companies are working with the Postal Service to handle the last leg of some deliveries, which translates into a cheaper shipping option for retailers and shoppers. Mr. Ross said FedEx’s version of this, called SmartPost, was especially well developed.

Wow, the most expensive part of package delivery is to your home. So what happens? Private business uses our old reliable postal service because they can't do it cheaper. Fancy that.
“The most expensive part of FedEx’s operation is delivery to the home,” he said. With SmartPost, “they ship as much as they can direct into the local post office, and pay the local post office a certain price per package to deliver it for them,” Mr. Ross said.

Once the postal service is privatized and gone, the most expensive part of package delivery will be paid by...YOU!!! Suckers. Another money hole pushed by the Republicans.
