Return of the Taxpayers Bill of Rights; Big Brother Republicans Force Big Government Control over Local Property Tax Needs.

The state might be open for business, but local cities, villages and townships, not so much.

Big government Republican Sen. Alberta Darling (up for recall) and Rep. Robin Vos peered into their crystal ball and decided cities just weren’t responsible enough to control their own futures. Thank god we have one party rule to grease the path to economic austerity.
Wheelerreport: A provision passed by the Joint Committee on Finance will cap property tax increases both now and into the future.
After hearing from their knuckle dragging low information constituents, who would prefer never ever paying taxes again, Darling and Vos went right to work:
“The taxpayers have spoken loud and clear,” said Senator Alberta Darling. “They want real, permanent tax relief and they want it now.”
“Taxpayers can circle this date on their calendars,” said Assembly co‐chair Representative Robin Vos. “We’re making history by creating a permanent property tax cap.” The committee passed a zero percent property tax cap for the next two years and a permanent 1.5 percent cap in the future.
Vos said, “We talked about permanent property tax limits during the last campaign and now we’re making it happen so local governments finally will (have) the fiscal certainty they need.”
I’m sure locally elected officials will be happy hear that big government Republicans in Madison, are finally watching over them.
