In what was an absolutely stunning over reaction to protesting families, teachers, police and firefighters, who they described as dangerous thugs, Republicans have only themselves to blame for spending nearly $8 million of our own taxpayer money to protect their scared little asses.
jsonline: The state Department of Administration announced Friday that it cost $7.81 million to provide security at the state Capitol during weeks of protest. The figure, which is preliminary and unaudited, is for the time period between Feb. 14 and March 13.
That’s a little over the amount estimated to clean-up the signage glue from the walls of the Capitol. Speaking of clean-up:
The state agency also said the preliminary estimate for repairs to the Capitol and Capitol grounds is $269,550. The state had backpedaled from earlier estimates that repairs would cost $7 million.
Following their paranoid instincts, these concealed carry supporting role models saw a villain in every school teacher, family, child, policeman and firefighter. They even compared these groups to anti-Vietnam protesters of the 60’s, the kind that bombed the university and clashed with “the man.” Well, the man was in among the protesters.
So it only follows that the normally repressed and loathed Republican Party members called out every uniformed law enforcement official they could think of. Get a load of this list:
Capitol police: $458,406. The figure represents only staffing costs. Local law enforcement: $3,904,919. A total of 202 law enforcement agencies, from town police to sheriff's departments around the state, submitted bills. A total of 32 law enforcement agencies have not yet submited bills. Other state agencies: $3,034,088. These agencies include the Wisconsin State Patrol, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Police, the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Justice.
Anyone trust these conservative political losers with a concealed weapon?
