You knew something was wrong when one of the "tools" to repair the economy was taken off the table; tax the rich. Never a tax increase, even after the deficit commission and most economists admitted that the combination of spending cuts and tax increases is the only way to balance the budget.
Jobs, jobs, jobs!! Remember that chant. Democrats tried and succeeded in preventing much greater job losses, even creating jobs, which are now paying off in tax revenues. That was the plan. Did you miss the memo?
Amazing; the recovery all along was based on jobs; income; tax revenues from that income; which in turn pours money back into the general operating fund. Da da! The economic recovery.
Walker's Republicans could not have sold their plan without quickly pushing through their wish list cuts before revenues came back.
Call it what it is, disaster capitalism. Get used to the term, it's here to stay.
