The EPA's new rules has irresponsible American conservative polluters up in arms . It's the END, again.

Fact: Lead paint in older homes is still a problem. I know this because I'm a Realtor. Construction work, during the home improvement season, now has to be done in a safe smart way so it doesn't endanger the homes occupants.

OUTRAGEOUS.

Now that the administration has implemented its new EPA regulations, we can all breath easier, except for Fox News:

Stuart Varney of Fox News cried bloody murder over the new rules issued by the EPA rules, including one requiring a licensed lead paint specialist be present on construction jobs of older homes and buildings.

What he didn't know, and didn't care to look up, was that states have added continuing education courses for all contractors to take so they will be the specialist on the job. They won't have to "hire out" expensive professionals to be on site. Since contractors do the work, and are licensed to deal with lead paint, problem solved.

There's more "sky is falling" heavy breathing:

While Fox News developes its talking point opposition to anything and everything the Obama administration puts out, Republican states are promising to oppose the EPA regulations. Maybe they can try to secede too?

(EPA) today jointly established historic new federal rules that set the first-ever national greenhouse gas emissions standards and will significantly increase the fuel economy of all new passenger cars and light trucks sold in the United States.

Specifically, the new National Program:

Enables the average car buyer of a 2016 model year vehicle to enjoy a net savings of $3,000 over the lifetime of the vehicle, as upfront technology costs are offset by lower fuel costs

Conserves about 1.8 billion barrels of oil over the lifetime of the vehicles regulated.

Reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 960 million metric tons over the lifetime of the vehicles regulated, equivalent to taking 50 million cars and light trucks off the road in 2030.

The rules could potentially save the average buyer of a 2016 model year car $3,000 over the life of the vehicle. The EPA standard would be equivalent to 35.5 miles per gallon if all reductions came from fuel economy improvements.

What's becoming clear about the conservative agenda: Saving money is NOT their main goal, preserving their free market principles is.
