Wetland development a good idea? Blame Republican Trailor Trash and Wisconsin Realtors Association.

Ever since the Republicans took over Wisconsin, they’ve done everything fast. Keep in mind; Republicans were complaining that the long drawn out debate on health care reform, since the early 1900’s, was “shoved down our throats.” But when they’re in control…

Within just 6 days from taking office, the Republicans were about to overturn a century of law, labor protections, and environmental control. If it wasn’t for 14 Democratic senators leaving the state, who knows how what would have happened.

Today? After losing half the states wetlands since the early settlements, the GOP has decided to lose the other half fast…hey we need the jobs:
jsonline: The state Senate advanced sweeping legislation on Tuesday that would ease restrictions over development on or near many wetlands Republican senators planned to come back shortly after midnight on Wednesday to take the final vote on the proposal.

Democrats echoed concerns of environmental and outdoors groups such as the Wisconsin Wetlands Association and Trout Unlimited. Those groups say the measure would cause irreparable harm to these complex systems that are critical habitat for birds, fish and wildlife.

But Republican senators said the changes were needed to give property owners and developers more flexibility on their land and boost the state's economy by allowing new development to proceed.

Still want to wait till their up for reelection?
