In preparation for upcoming elections, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi and Dane County Board Chairman Scott McDonell on Thursday announced steps that the county will take to help voters get photo identification they will need to show at the polls to vote. In order to get a free voter ID from the state, people need a birth certificate. Parisi and McDonell said they want to waive the cost of getting a birth certificate, making it easier for people to get an ID to vote.
