According to Paul Krugman:
A more sober assessment from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office tells a different story. It finds that a large part of the supposed savings from spending cuts would go, not to reduce the deficit, but to pay for tax cuts. In fact, the budget office finds that over the next decade the plan would lead to bigger deficits and more debt than current law.
Maybe the Democrats can come up with a budget and then tell Congress to go ahead and pass it --- they can of course READ it later. We need to seriously ask why the Democrats never came up with a budget for 2011 in the first place and what is up with that.
ReplyDeleteThe main reason was the budget would have been filibustered. Everything is. It makes writing bills a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteHaven't you been keeping count of the record filibusters?
Silly meaningless talking points.
