While the new Republican/Tea party movement has poisoned Congress' ability to manage our countries fiscal challenges, the real frontal assault on the Americans way of life is at the state level.
All that talk about compromise, local control and jobs is out the window now, because after all, the states are broke. These are extraordinary times, and before we have any time to take care of the voting public, we need to take care of business. Never mind that people need livable incomes to consume and create demand, which in turn creates jobs, improves the economy and brings in tax dollars to states.
We need to rescue business first...oh, and while we're at it, make sure Democrats can't vote while defanging their campaign donor unions. Ooops, did they say that? Rachel Maddow nails it:
