There are more school closings, saving big money for districts, but at what cost? People move to cities and towns because of their schools. Once that option dries up, I guess Republicans could always pass out a few more business tax credits to solve the problem...it's the solution for everything.
Here's the rub; some parents are angry and want public education funding, others might want that, but are too cheap to pay anymore. While still others, who got their kids through school, don't want to pay anymore. There's one more thing; Portage is losing business and population according to some, so perhaps, the school funding shortfall is a nature outgrowth of that. From WKOW:
