Job Creating Sand Mines Trash Western Wisconsin Counties that Supported Walker.

After voting for Scott Walker, and claiming the state is moving in the right direction, Burnett and Trempealeau Counties must now deal with the small government consequences of their local job creators.

And I say good riddance. Isn't it time we all accept and trust in the environmental stewardship of the mining industry?
Remember this cartoon from 2010?
jsonline: For the first time, two pollution cases involving the booming sand mining industry in western Wisconsin have been referred to the state Department of Justice … One case involves large amounts of sediments that flowed into the St. Croix River in Burnett County in April … The other involves air pollution problems, and separately, a case in March in which massive amounts of mud cascaded down a hill into a stream and wetland in Trempealeau County. Western Wisconsin has attracted dozens of sand companies … And while their presence has been an economic boon for the region, there are also concerns about the environmental effects … The facilities mine sand used for a drilling technique known as "fracking."
Republicans hate the EPA and all their job killing regulations, so why the fuss? If AG J.B. Van Hollen were smart, he’d slap these job creators wrists and move “forward.”

Like the residents of these counties said when they voted for Walker, ‘we like what we’ve seen so far.’ So why should the rest of us care about your bad decisions, muddy rivers and air pollution? The DNR doesn’t:
In January, the DNR said it didn't plan to write regulations for crystalline silica. The agency denied a request from a group of citizens that asked that crystalline silica be regulated as a hazardous air pollutant … can be a human carcinogen and is known to cause (a) chronic inflammatory disease of the lungs.
Enjoy the economic boon suckers.
