Frightened Republicans Overspent on Capitol Security, Should be held Accountable for Wasting $8 million.

We're constantly hearing how the February and March protests by teachers, firefighters, police and average Wisconsinites, were some out of control mod of thugs, hell bent on vandalizing the Capitol. It never happened, and the press reported just how nonviolent the crowds were, and how so few were arrested.

Yet the security tab against these supposed latte sipping liberal assassins and anarchists now exceeds $8 million.

WSJ: The months of protests over Gov. Scott Walker’s budget and collective bargaining measures around the state Capitol are expected to cost the state more than $8 million to reimburse nearly 200 law enforcement agencies and seven state agencies brought in to provide around-the-clock security.

Why isn't anyone questioning the administrations outrageous security overkill? This is mismanagement like we've never seen. Sure Republicans are a paranoid group of gun carriers, but for a peaceful string of events that included law enforcement, fire fighters and teachers, $8 million? If anyone was trying to reenact the Vietnam War protests, it had to be the Republicans, who were trying to do what they couldn't do back then-stop the protesters.

For proof, here's a short interview by Ed Schultz of a protesting teacher and her husband, a cop who worked the Capitol protests.
