Reince Priebus Outraged Over Salute to Ted Kennedy, like it's His Call?

John Dean warned us of the authoritarian nature of his own political party, but did anyone listen? Dean wrote this in 2007:
Authoritarianism is, by its nature, anti-democratic. One look at the House under Republican rule shows how authoritarian behavior has distorted the deliberative processes of this legislative chamber. Under GOP rule, leaders have represented the interest of the Republican Party, and have run the place as if the Democrats who represent over half the country did not exist.

The authoritarian conservative philosophy was fully articulated by Terry Eastland, a former Reagan Justice Department Director of Public Affairs, (who) wrote a strong president is one who wears his commander-in-chief uniform every day, and tells Americans how they should think and act, rather than one who responds to the wishes of the voters. It is a Father-Knows-Best presidency, one that considers Americans to be children who do not know what is best for themselves.
With just a little power, people like Reince Priebus think they can do anything, even control the opposition party's topics. It seems the authoritarian overreach of the Republican Party knows no bounds, and is not kept in check by their "freedom" loving voters. Power is intoxicating.

Here Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews talk about Reince's latest dictatorial outrage over free speech. A must see:
