See if you remember this statement:
"We don't want this to become some sort of political football during the fall election campaigns."
That statement allowed Scott Walker to dodge a potentially fatal blow to his quest to be governor.
It seems the famous line, “You can’t handle the truth” is now the default public policy of our Republican authority and compliant news media.
The lucky recipient AGAIN, is Scott Kevin Walker. This is the
second time Walker might get a media pass for purely politically correct reasons. It seems the John Doe investigation might take a break.
Never before have so many alleged felonies been committed by people so close to a guy that would eventually be our governor. Walker even has a defense fund. But Walker might be allowed to walk until after the recall election.
Several former prosecutors and judges suggested they would file any additional new charges soon, or wait until after June 6.
Ex-Milwaukee County Circuit Judge John Franke would be inclined to sit on his hands until the votes are cast. 'One approach is to put blinders on and … another is to attempt to separate prosecution and politics by waiting until after the election, no matter who might be helped,' Franke said. 'I prefer the second choice.'
William Jennaro , who served 12 years on the bench after working as a Milwaukee County prosecutor, suggested a moratorium on new criminal charges in the 30 days before an election.
As I mentioned, this wouldn't be the first time poor Scott
Walker has been unfairly targeted with an investigation just before an election.
Just before Walker won the governorship, the Greater Milwaukee Committee
compiled a devastating report about the possible bankruptcy and breaking up of
the county, all thanks to it's county executive Scott Walker. But:

Dan Bice wrote: Milwaukee County government is in such dire financial shape that state lawmakers should push through legislation that would allow it and other local governments to file for bankruptcy … the powerful committee is looking to recommend doing away with the elected county executive's post, slicing county worker benefits and spinning off the zoo, the bus system, the parks and much else under separate commissions.
If these dramatic steps - or something like them - aren't taken county
government will collapse, the draft report suggests.
The report also puts it this way: "If we don't make changes today … Parks will close, bus routes will end and families in distress will not get the help they need. Our Milwaukee will grow smaller and smaller as people and companies leave."
So here we go again?
