Consumer Advocate Realtors Fight back against Arrogant Wisconsin Realtors Association.

After disparaging remarks emanating from the Wisconsin Realtors Association to those protesting Gov. Walker’s anti-labor policies, as a former realtor/consumer advocate, it’s great to see real estate agents stepping away from the corporate influence. In one fell swoop, the WRA blew its credibility with their hard working members by making this backhanded self-important comment:
jsonline: Mike Theo, head of the legal and public affairs department at the Wisconsin Realtors Association, said his group endorsed Walker in the gubernatorial campaign. But he said the association endorsed Walker within the context of issues of importance to members, such as property tax relief, land use planning and economic development. He said it was unfortunate his group was on a boycott list.
"People are not compelled to work with a Realtor," Theo said.
Even though agent Realtors are required to be association members, and can’t protest the position of the WRA and Mike Theo’s arrogant statement by leaving the group, they’ve decided to fight back by forming Wisconsin Real Estate Professionals in Support of a Progressive Environment.
WI RISPE: We are a group of Realtors passionate about supporting schools, the environment, community and the very people that make Wisconsin strong. The strength of a community is tantamount to a sustainable and prosperous real estate market.
