Senate Plays to Gas Price Fears with Message Video of Elected Corporate Scumbags

Lately, Politico.com has been turning up some interesting stories from inside the beltway. This one for example, features this bizarre “message” video.

First a little background from Politico:

The Senate GOP Conference has released this slick video, calling on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to allow more open debate on a balanced energy policy, including more drilling in offshore waters. Fifteen Republican senators participated in this "video message," which has been posted on YouTube. Reid is hosting a bipartisan energy summit in Nevada later this month, and the GOP's
"Act Now" rhetoric is aimed at increasing the pressure on Democrats to allow votes on offshore oil drilling.

The way I look at it, this is a who’s who of “disaster capitalist” Senators, taking advantage of a panicky public devastated by high gas prices. The polls showing an overwhelming desire to drill, has motivated these predators to action, exposing their corporate intentions along with the seamy underbelly of the Republican Party. Remember their smug faces.
