Remember this chessnut of thoughtful deliberation?
Capital Times: Gov. Scott Walker backed off a suggestion Friday that he might attempt to bypass the Legislature in his bid to tighten regulations on wind farms in the state. Earlier this week, lawmakers decided to put the brakes on a Walker bill that would dramatically increase the distance between wind turbines and adjacent property lines. The proposal would make Wisconsin among the toughest regulatory environments in the country for the wind industry.
For anyone to believe for a moment that Walker wouldn’t get his way on this, or that the Republican legislature would actually put off action on job killing changes, is living in a fantasy world. Suddenly, the brakes are off.
WSJ: Less than a month before new rules are set to go into effect, the state Legislature is reopening the debate over wind farm regulations and casting a shadow over the industry's future in Wisconsin.
The Legislature's joint rules committee heard more than seven hours of testimony Wednesday from both supporters and opponents of Wisconsin's wind siting regulations, which are official March 1.
That was short. It seems the press is trying real hard to make this radical remake of the Republican Party seem deliberate and thoughtfully moderate.
Just like the “surprise” over Walker’s hard line on high speed rail, the media refuses to recognize the inevitable right wing radicalization of what was a fairly purple state, abdicating their Constitutional responsibility to an inform and warn the public.
