For Texas and Oklahoma Republicans, the number one issue this upcoming election is jobs, jobs, jobs?

Jobs, jobs, jobs. Stay on point, don't get distracted. We all know how easy it is for conservatives to lose their concentration, especially when faced with another liberty threatening issue. So...

Dallasnews: The Republican Party platform, voted on at the Texas state convention, is a blueprint of the policies that GOP activists want elected officials to pursue.

Delegates voted to include a plank advocating for a state law that would bar illegal immigrants from "intentionally or knowingly" living in Texas.

Another potentially controversial plank advocates an "open carry" law, which would allow residents to openly carry firearms in public without a concealed weapons permit.

Delegates … called for a nonbinding resolution calling on House Republicans to oust their own speaker, Rep. Joe Straus of San Antonio, considered too moderate for many of the bedrock conservatives meeting in Dallas.
Jobs, jobs….what was the topic again? More proof? Check out this surreal proposal from another concerned Republican, State Rep. Rex Duncan, taking on the issues of the day, courtesy of Crooks and Liars:

Duncan: Oklahoman's recognize that America was founded on Judeo Christian principles and we're unapologetically grateful that God has blessed America and blessed our state. State amendment 755, the Save Our State Amendment is a simple effort to insure our courts are not used to undermine those founding principles and turn Oklahoma into something our founding fathers and our great grandparents wouldn't recognize.

Brewer: Do you believe that there's imminent danger of judges using Sharia law when deciding cases?

Duncan: It's not just a danger, it's a reality. Every day, liberals and uh, just ...

Brewer: Ok, and the reality has it happened in your state of Oklahoma that judges have...

Duncan: ...it has not. This is a pre-emptive strike to make sure that liberal judges don't take the bench in an effort to use their position to undermine those founding principles that are international or Sharia law. the other part of the question is to prohibit all state courts from considering international or Sharia law when considering cases, even cases of first impression.
