Hawaii's governor on Tuesday vetoed legislation that would have permitted same-sex civil unions ... Republican Gov. Linda Lingle's said, "voters should decide the fate of civil unions, not politicians. It would be a mistake to allow a decision of this magnitude be made by one individual or a small group of elected officials," Lingle said.Did she just veto, as "one individual," the civil unions legislation. Clueless? We would hate to have that whole group of public servants, our elected representatives, defend and vote the will of the people. Why do we even bother with government?

Should Our Elected Representatives Be Allowed to Usurp the Voters Will…? Gawd, Republicans are real Constitutional Scholars.
It's nice to know the Governor of Hawaii has such a firm grasp of REPRESENTATIVE government.
