Oath Keepers: Stealing and Reinterpreting the Constitution. Justifying the Lunatic Fringe.

The armed militia known as the Oath keepers describe themselves in this way: "Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, peace officers, fire-fighters, and veterans who swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic … and meant it. We won’t “just follow orders.”

Without listing their "list," you can watch the over dramatic scary music video at the bottom, this anti-American-patriotic American fringe group says they will wage war while not waging war. Somewhere in all the mud and mirrors message is a ready and waiting gun nuts dream of a governmental coup. This is their promise:

"Below is our declaration of orders we will NOT obey because we will consider them unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral violations of the natural rights of the people. Such orders would be acts of war against the American people by their own government, and thus acts of treason. We will not make war against our own people. We will not commit treason. We will defend the Republic."

Another words, instead of the normal legal process involving the three branches of government, the Oath Keepers alone can make decisions for all of us when executing their agenda.

Here is just one "hot" issue gleaned from the Oath Keepers skewed constitutional reading.

Richard Mack, former Sheriff of Graham County, Arizona, explains how county sheriffs across the country can stop forced or mandatory vaccinations. Sheriffs’ power supercedes federal regulatory programs, as Sheriffs are NOT agents of the federal government. Oath Keeper Sheriff Richard Mack presents his book "The County Sheriff America’s Last Hope."

Mack’s book covers decades of research to prove once and for all that the sheriffs in this country are indeed the ultimate law authority in their respective jurisdictions. The sheriff absolutely has the power and responsibility to defend his citizens against all enemies, including those from our own Federal Government. History, case law, common law and common sense all show clear evidence that the sheriff is the people’s protector in all issues of injustice and is responsible for keeping the peace in all matters. He is the last line of defense for his constituents; he is America’s last hope to regain our forgotten freedom.

With just the right amount of scary, threatening music, here's the Oath Keepers sacred declarations (warning, its long and boring):

  1. MediaCurves.com conducted a study among 300 viewers of a news clip featuring the Oath Keepers organization. Results found that majority of viewers (53%) felt that armed militia groups should be outlawed in the United States. The percentage of viewers that support the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, which protects the right to keep and bear arms, declined from 80% to 73% after viewing the video. In addition, more than one-third of the viewers (37%) reported that the existence of the Oath Keepers organization causes them to feel less safe.

  2. Thanks for the information, ben.

It appears the more extreme these groups become, and more vocally visible, the greater the push back from a worried public.

    I'm encouraged...but still concerned.
