Why Would Everyone Drop Private Health Insurance for a Government Plan? Why Worry about Universal Care When No One Wants It?

There are some truths even Republican can't obscure from public view:

NY Times: Republicans on Sunday continued to express strong concerns over the Obama administration’s plan to reform health care and its call for a public insurance option.

“I think that, for virtually every Republican, a government plan is a non-starter,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “We know that, if the government gets in this business, pretty soon nobody else will be in the business.”

McConnell thinks people will hear that and be afraid.

Most people will think: The government option for health care must kick ass if everyone would want to drop high priced private insurance.

Is it really that easy?
