The “you’re not listening to us” chant by Tea Party conservatives should have been the tip off. These loud bullies, in the minority, want everything their way. First they whined about health care for all, how odd it that, then it was an attack on high speed rail. We heard crying and bellyaching protests around the state and on conservative talk radio about taxpayer burden of “European style” high speed train travel. The conservative contingent had a literal meltdown over the issue.
So imagine my surprise when I read this self-centered letter to the editor:
Dear Editor: If folks want the train, have them pay for it on their own. We need to look at issues of unemployment and getting corporate America moving -- this is what made our country great.
Please stop having adults throw temper tantrums in public because they want their way.
I’ll keep that advice in mind the next time I hear some raving conservative low information voter shout, “you’re not listening to us.”
