At a GM plant, John McCain called for an electric vehicle tax credit, and surprisingly, it’s the only thing McCain has said in the last 6 months that makes any sense.
According to the LA Times: Trying to inject hope into a struggling auto industry, (McCain) says a $5,000 credit should be given to consumers who buy cars like the Chevy Volt, now a prototype whose design room he toured in Michigan.
That’s a solid tax credit for consumers, and a pretty nice incentive to move us away from these insane gas prices.
Let’s hope the GM doesn’t up the price of the Volt by $5000. Naw, GM wouldn’t do that...would they?
We’ll have to wait and see.
