McCain's Mind is a Scary Place for His Fellow "Prisoners"

Sometimes it's the little things that hang with you. That's what happened with John McCain's recent slip of the tongue referring the his fellow citizens as "prisoners" during a town hall visit. "Prisoners" seems so out of left field, so impossible to say by mistake, unless you were thinking about it. Unless you were preoccupied by some lingering experience a long time ago.

For someone who grew up in the military, and resented authority, there's a lot that can go wrong with your thought process. Especially when your backed into a corner and begin to rely on your survival instincts. It's a place where your their leader, ready to guide your fellow "prisoners" out of the growing danger, justifying every desperate offensive as unfortunate but necessary to win.
