Voters May Get to Ask Gov. Palin Questions, if You're Good says McCain Manager Rick Davis

It appears Fox News's Chris Wallace wants some answers, and isn't afraid to make John McCain's sleazy campaign manager Rick Davis squirm a little when it comes to VP pick Sarah Palin's media access. Davis thinks he came out looking good, as any fool would, but instead showed a contempt for his fellow Republicans and voters that should be the number one topic for Democrats. Why are Davis and McCain keeping Palin away from actual reporters? That does not include "Good Morning America's" Charlie Gibson, who Davis has allowed to interview Palin. What are they hiding? Is a fast learning curve on world matters any substitute for national security experience, which Barack Obama and Joe Biden have?

Again, Rick Davis' answer should piss off conservatives as well as Democrats. Apparently it is not the media's responsibility to critique Republicans on their record or ask tough questions.

By the way, looking at Rick Davis, would you buy a used car from this guy?

I liked this interview assessment from Glenn Greenwald:

If I were a McCain adviser and wanted to have Palin sit with someone who is perceived as a "journalist" while knowing that no damage could possibly occur, I'd pick Charlie Gibson, too. There are many, many other equally good alternatives, but when it comes to wretched passivity and sycophantic establishment worship, the former "Good Morning America" host -- whose career was built on oozing amiability and inoffensiveness -- is as good as it gets.
