Stephanopoulos Blows Credibility with McCain Campaign Talking Point

Is ABC News' George Stephanopoulos dense, or getting his talking points from the McCain campaign committee? Stephanopoulos intentionally confused voting against Bush policies, with Obama's vote for his own parties policies, which are dramatically different. As it turns out, this was a talking point issue created by the McCain campaign, which explains the "down the rabbit hole" nature of the convoluted question. Obama appeared stunned that George continued his line of questioning, despite his best effort to point out its inanity.

According to CBS News:

Dismissing his rival's claims of being able to bring change to the ways of Washington, Republican presidential candidate John McCain said that Illinois Senator Barack Obama has not worked as a reformer because he has not challenged Democrats.

"I do know that he never took on his party on any major issue," McCain said, appearing on CBS News' Face The Nation. "From the time he came up in the Chicago political arena to the time, the short time he was in the Senate, he never took on his party on a single major issue."

The simple explaination: the Democrats weren't in power, and most of his votes and the votes of fellow party members, were against Republican bills supporting the Bush agenda.
