Blue Dogs put their Finger on "Trigger," Safety Off.

The Fire Dog Lake is taking on one of the most idiotic health care options to ever see the light of day, the trigger.

Why do I care? As of September 1, 2009, for the first time, my family cannot afford to buy health insurance. This is unthinkable when your a parent of two young boys.

A few "blue dog" Democrats and a number of moderate Republicans have proposed letting the health care debacle get even worse before a "trigger" allows the formation of an affordable public option. Sen. Ben Nelson even went far to suggest it wouldn't be a "hair" trigger either. These clueless politicians don't seem to recognize the agonizing human toll on millions of Americans who will be effected by a government waiting period. In my view, it's breathtaking.

I don't make fund raising recommendations very often here, but a website I've grown to respect for its political perspective and activism has decided to take on the issue of a trigger. Firedoglake.com needs help fighting this hair brained deadly option. They're calling it "Pull the Trigger.":

What's a trigger? It means they'll wait for our health care crisis to get even worse before implementing a public health insurance
option. And even then, a public option may never see the light of day.

We need to get ready for this monumental moment. But we need resources for our campaign team to prepare. Donate today to help us pass a public health insurance option.
