When it comes to health care, does anyone think this fact is acceptable: the Congressional Budget Office projects that health expenditures will rise to 25 percent of GDP by 2025. Health care spending among other rich, developed countries in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development averaged just 9 percent of GDP in 2006. -American Progress.
Yet the Republicans, who claim they're fiscally responsible, are okay with this tremendous waste of hard earned income. Reining this in would bring bigger savings than any tax cut conservatives can promise American's, which is why they oppose fixing the problem. They will tell you it's a big government nightmare, but what they are really trying to do is prevent the Democrats from increasing peoples incomes and wiping out medical bankruptcy's. Without reform, disaster capitalism will continue to thrive, and empower Republican ideology.
