Superior Mayor Hagen said what he meant in "bad choice of words" about the Obama's!!!

Mayor Bruce Hagen of Superior not only called Obama a Muslim, but said he was destroying the country. 

“Unbelievable! She and her Muslim partner have destroyed the fabric of Democracy that was so very hard fought for."

Would you describe that as a "poor choice of words?" Someone should ask the mayor how he would rephrase that. Calling his statement below an apology would, in my opinion, be another "poor choice of words." And yet Mayor Hagen thinks we're all as dumb as his in denial bigoted supporters:

"...a poor choice of words in a moment of anger. I apologize to the Muslim community for being insensitive. I had my back up. I'm not a racist. I'm not a bigot. I'm not a religious zealot. I'm a Christian, and I have a strong faith in God. I have so many friends that are of various different religions. The bottom line was I was deeply, deeply in pain and hurt by what was cast back at me for what I believed to be an honest error and mistake."

Why do we accept these vapidly empty Republican take-backs and non-apologies?

After all, it was only last week Mayor Hagen dug his heals in (picture) when residents protested his bigoted statement and outright lie about Obama's religion. He got major nationwide press. Despite being wrong, Mayor Hagen claimed he had a 1st Amendment free speech right to his opinion, completely missing the point. Like all Republicans caught in a lie or bigoted/racist comment, admit no wrong, dig in, and get what mileage you can:

Do we still have freedom of speech in the country? I, like any other citizen or public official, have the unalienable right to speak and represent my beliefs through the First Amendment. To retreat from the very freedoms that are guaranteed in the Constitution and for which many millions of men and women have fought to ensure, would be wrong and the continued attack on free speech.Sometimes I kind of forget. I have huge respect for the office of the president, but no respect for the current administration.”

Pretty clear choice of words, right? But the media is pretending his job saving non-apology is somehow okay and sincere. Not this time. 

Walker's inadvertent admission: Muslims unwelcome, shouldn't enjoy Freedom to Worship in US.

Remember when Scott Walker said during his failed presidential campaign that there is a “handful of reasonable and moderate followers of Islam." It was a peek into Walker's darker agenda.

That was also just one early sign Republicans were ready to take aim Muslims and the 1st Amendment.

At the Milwaukee Jewish Federation's menorah lighting ceremony, Walker didn't just skip over the one major religion dominating the news today, but denied he singled out any religion after singling out 4 of them. After blaming the media for his own bigoted shortcomings, our Humpty Dumpyist Governor tried to word-salad his way out of trouble (audio below):

Walker Rails Against Media After Reporter Questions Religious Freedom Quote: Walker Omitted Islam When Listing Off Religions Who Enjoy Freedom To Worship ... left out Muslims when listing off religious groups that deserve the freedom to worship Monday. Afterward, when a reporter pointed out the omission, Walker criticized the news media, and said he didn't specifically mean to "single one (group) or the other out."

He said that "whether someone is Jewish, or Christian, or Hindu, or Buddhist, or whatever it might be, that particularly here in America, we recognize that that's one of the great tenets."

A reporter later asked Walker why he left Muslims off his list.

As you can see, he singled out four religions. And yet Walker said he did no such thing and then blamed the media for pointing out his unintentional slip of religious bias:

"Pointing that out is typical of the media," said Walker. "Somebody asked me the other day, what did I find out about the media? It's like, what did I leave out? I just rattled off a bunch. You could mention three or four other religions. I didn't specifically single one or the other out."

The guy that yelled Walker was "a schmuck" before getting tossed from the ceremony, was right of course. and another reason why Walker doesn't makes open to the public appearances.

The Republican presidential primary should covered by comedians, not reporters.

This is the least serious, most bizarre off the wall group of dumb asses yet, and I thought 2012 was hard to beat. It's impossible to pretend Trump, Cruz, Bush and Rubio have something thoughtful to say. If this were a movie, we would have walked after the first insulting debate and asked for our money back.

Chris Hayes took a closer look at the supposed "Islamization of America," where the leader of the armed protests posted the names and addresses of Muslim's in Irving on Facebook. Irving's wack-a-doodle Mayor Beth Van Duyne has falsely stated the mosque there established the countries first Islamic court to practice Sharia law. That won't radicalize the targets of fear mongering Republicans:



While I've been trying to make the case that Republican are fascists, every conservative troller I've encountered were convinced that it's really just the other way around...

Smithsonian: The Statue of Liberty was originally designed to be a Muslim woman, the Smithsonian Institution's magazine says. An article on the government-administered museum’s blog, Smart News, claims one of the designers of Lady Liberty drew inspiration from monuments in Egypt and originally intended to construct a veiled female peasant on the Suez Canal. The article cites historian Barry Moreno, author of multiple books about the statue, whose Islamic origins were also reported last week by The Daily Beast.

Republicans exploit Syrian Refugees to win Presidential Election!

Disappointingly, Democrats were willing accomplices to GOP efforts to spread stupidity and fear about Syrian refugees. Our own Rep. Ron Kind jumped on board the “stupid” bandwagon. See the list of gutless Democrats here.

It’s hard to imagine anyone getting behind the following compilation of reckless uninformed fear laced rants, but they did, marking another very dark moment in U.S. history. I put together all the clips I could find in just a couple of hours, so there's still a whole lot more I missed. Will we look back on all this with utter disgust? This is what the Republican Party is using to divide the public in order to win a presidential election. It's eleven minutes of mostly hate and a few moments of honesty:

Consider this journey into the manufactured fear of Syrian refugee terrorists getting something for nothing:

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) suggested that Syrian refugees are just trying to come to the United States for a "paid vacation" ... "We’re paying them about $15,000 a year in free health care, free food, free shelter, free clothing, free transportation," according to audio posted by ThinkProgress. "That answers very quickly why so many of them want to come to the United States of America. Were paying them to come here. It's a paid vacation!"

Speaker Paul Ryan constructed this Orwellian take on the refugees, after constructing what would be an indefinite road block to Syrian immigration: "Certified safe by the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and the Director of National Intelligence." Of course it's never going to happen, and yet...

 "We are a compassionate nation. We always have been, and we always will be."

You would think Ryan had access to the chart below, or have some working knowledge of it after cooking up his impossible test for Syrian refugees trying to come to the U.S.:

The only person that could cut through the GOP rhetoric? Comedian John Oliver picked up where our news media dropped off the face of the earth:

“Every generation has had its own ugly reaction to refugees, whether they are the Irish, the Vietnamese, the Cubans, or the Haitians, and those fears have ben broadly unfounded. In fact, there was only one time in American history when the fear of refugees wiping everyone out did actually come true, and we’ll all be sitting around a table celebrating it on Thursday.”

And religious freedom? It apparently has more to do with contraception and gay marriage than it does letting Muslims freely exercise their religion beliefs:

Sen. Chris Kapenga (R-Delafield) posted a link to a Yahoo! News article Monday entitled "Ben Carson won't back down from comments about Muslims" - adding his own comment - "I agree with him." The article was about Dr. Carson defending his belief that a Muslim should not be elected President.

27 News asked Sen. Kapenga's staff if he would explain his position on the matter. The tweet was taken down shortly after our call and his staff never responded to our request. On Tuesday, we again asked a staffer for Sen. Kapenga if he would do an interview on the matter. His office responded with a one-line email: "Senator Kapenga is unable to do an interview and will not be commenting further on the issue." 

Sen. Jon Erpenbach (D-Middleton) told 27 News: "I don't know of anyone else in the State Senate who believes that, but we're cast in that same light and it's really frustrating."

Anti-Muslim Film Maker Found, Conservatives say he's the victim for making laughable movie.

After the anti-Muslim film maker was found, conservative media started to defend themselves, with "can't you take a joke," or "hey, what's the big deal?"

The conservative trash news site Hot Air, posted this bizarre “don’t blame us, blame Muslim’s who can’t deal with criticism” screed by Ed Morrissey. The filmmaker is the real victim here?

Over the last couple of days, I wonder whether the American media may get someone killed — and perhaps more than a few people — with their irresponsible stakeout of “Sam Bacile.” If anyone interested in taking revenge on Nakoula Besseley Nakoula wanted to know where to find him, it wouldn’t take long in Cerritos, California, especially with some media reports noting Nakoula’s distinctive front door. This media swarm puts that entire neighborhood at risk, now and probably for a very long time. And for what?  Is Nakoula a serial killer? A child molester?  No, he’s a man with poor taste who made a video that insulted some people who can’t deal with criticism, even the laughably inane and inept criticism of this 14-minute cheesefest that makes Plan 9 From Outer Space look like Citizen Kane.  

Real laughable stuff, resulting in people dying and anti-American demonstrations? What is it about a conservatives inability to take responsibility, ever? I don't even want to get into their weird, twisted, sick sense of humor.

A man purported to be a filmmaker involved with the anti-Islam video sparking violent unrest in the Middle East and North Africa was escorted by deputies from his Cerritos, Calif., home shortly after midnight Saturday morning, NBCLosAngeles.com reported. Nakoula emerged wearing a coat, hat, scarf and glasses. L.A. County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed to NBCLA that Nakoula, 55, was taken to the Cerritos sheriff’s station for interviewing by federal probation officers aimed at determining whether he violated the terms of his 5-year probation by uploading a video to the Internet.
