Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis victim of Abbott's Supporters Abortion Barbie Poster.

I’m beginning to think we no longer have an actual opposition political party. Instead of the Republican Party, we have a politically active gang of immature bullies playing a game of chicken with the country.  These aren't really adults, are they?

The following is too bizarre to be taken lightly. This can’t be the next step in campaigning, or the way one party expects to run a country:

Karli Wallace, Campaign Organizer, Democracy for America: We're not talking about a relatively tame little sketch here. We're talking life-sized pictures of a mostly naked Barbie doll with Wendy's face plastered on it -- complete with a pair of scissors and a plastic baby stuck in its belly. I can't remember a political attack as vulgar and sexist as this one. There are no words for how disgusting this is: Last week, allies of Greg Abbott's increasingly desperate campaign covered bus stops and phone booths with posters depicting Wendy Davis as "Abortion Barbie."

Young Republicans Bat S**t Crazy, Celebrate Walker's first Year

I thought this Mad Hatter style press release of pure political projection lent itself to commentary, my own, interjected throughout:
Dane County Young Republicans Announce “Recall the Recall” Event to Take Place Nov. 15 at The Edgewater Hotel

The Dane County Young Republicans … announced plans to hold a “Recall the Recall” event in support of Gov. Scott Walker on the eve of the proposed recall by liberal special interests. (Wisconsinites who object to their “one party” government are now special interests?)

Speakers Vicki McKenna and Rep. Robin Vos will appear to denounce the Democrats’ historic overreach (Democrats…are they kidding or this clueless?) and recount how Governor Walker’s reforms are working to relieve the burden on working families throughout Wisconsin.

Here’s where it gets really, really surreal! Having been at the Capitol protests with my kids at least 10 times, what follows are the delusional ranting’s of a party so devoid of a moral and ethical center, that you have to be a complete dupe not to see through this bullshit. I don’t usually write this, but these people are really fucked up:
“While paid out-of-town capitol protesters and violent “Occupy” crowds have been rioting and disrupting state and local governments throughout the country, we wanted to focus on the positive gains Wisconsin has made because of Governor Walker’s leadership said David Summers, DCYR spokesperson.

“The only thing Democrats seek with the recall process is the furthering of their extreme liberal agenda, which the voters thankfully threw to the curb in the elections of 2010,” added Charla Halverson, President of the Dane County Young Republicans.

Instead of joining with Governor Walker … (the) Democratic party (is) only willing to ignore the voice of the people and instead are pushing for a costly and divisive recall. Wisconsinites have repeatedly shown their distaste for hijacking of their rights at the ballot box by Big Labor and other Washington, DC-based special interests, and we’re confident that opposition will continue. ” More information can be found at www.danecountyyr.com.

Republican Party of Wisconsin accuses Democrats of "tricking," "harassing," "intimidating," "confusing" recall signers into denial. Fire their writers.

Here's the next "big whopper" from the Republican Party of Wisconsin:
The Democrat Party of Wisconsin is using a fraudulent tactic to harass and intimidate constituents … targeted for harassment people who signed recall petitions against Senator Hansen … using a fake phone number and caller ID that showed up on phones as “Bay Care Aurora,” a well-known Green Bay area medical center … they were told they were speaking with a Democrat Party of Wisconsin operative, and were questioned about signing a petition to recall Hansen.
First the caller ID is correct, not fake as claimed in the press release. I actually called Bay Care Aurora. The number is an inactive one at the medical center. So right away, WISGOP is lying. Here’s where it gets insanely...dumb (the best word I could come up with):
“It’s disgusting that the Dems would use a fake call from a hospital to trick people into answering their phones – only so they could harass and intimidate them into saying they did not sign a recall petition,” said Mark Jefferson, Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin.
Can we really trick and harass recall signers into…denial? Really? It's that easy? But the cheesy story line didn’t stop there:
“People who received that call may have feared the worst – an unexpected call from a hospital can bring terrible news about a loved one. The Democrats’ intent was obviously to confuse and upset people, hoping they would be disoriented and easily tricked into saying they had not signed a recall petition.
Did anyone know Republican could be so easily tricked and disoriented into recanting their participation in recalling a Democrat? I called my very conservative gun toting friend in Milwaukee and asked him if he would deny ever signing a recall petition for a Democrat. His first reaction; "I wouldn't tell you." His second reaction, "Are you kidding."
Dave Hansen’s political career may be coming to an end because he fled to Illinois, but that doesn’t excuse this cruel, desperate tactic.”
Here’s their proof, a photo at their web site of what they claim is a fake caller ID name and phone number.

To be honest, I too received an intimidating call by someone who said they were an operative of WISGOP, who forced me to deny I ever was a liberal, and denounce Capitol protesters as thugs. I've got proof. Here's the fake caller ID and number:

Republicans Finally Prove, Government is Bad!!! Of course, only under Republican Rule.

This is THE face of Republican incompetence. I blogged about this partisan County Clerk before, when all the red flags went up, but no one stepped up to stop her.

One thing to keep in mind, there is no competency standard for Republican office holders, because government can do no good.
Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus issued a statement Tuesday afternoon rejecting calls that she resign. "I will serve the remainder of my term," Nickolaus said. "I understand why people are upset and I am taking this matter seriously. Again, I am sorry for my mistake."

What was it that voters liked so much about the Republicans? Their ideas!!

What's coming up in the new Republican House? Creative destruction and a little taste of the Shock Doctrine.

Like Sen. Jim DeMint's suggestion future unemployment checks become LOANS.

Rep. John Boehner's rejection of the word compromise is a bit odd, considering how loud the GOP screamed during the health care debate about compromise. Can you imagine Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying this two years ago?

Why not create new road blocks to voting, with great ideas like requiring every voter to be a property owner. Then we can require them to be politically knowledgeable.

Or how about banning people on public assistance from voting:

Gov. Mark Sanford's love scandal actually made him a better man, and proved his ideas were more important than morals and ethics. Lying too.

American Voters Elected Republicans to Govern Alternate Reality GOP Created in Media!!

I thought this editorial piece by Dave Zweifel, editor emeritus of The Capital Times, backed up what I've been saying all along, and that is the Republican midterm win was illegitimate. They won based on pure fiction. Lies! It looks like we're about to see what happens when the lying scoundrels are put back in power and have to govern in reality.
Check out the upside down perceptions of the voting public:

That many Americans don’t pay attention when they decide how to vote is being borne out by the post Nov. 2 polling and interviews with voters.

For instance, a Bloomberg poll found that two-thirds of voters believe that their taxes had gone up under Obama and the Democrats, that the economy has shrunk and all that TARP money to bail out the banks is lost, never to be recovered. Further, most believe that the new health care law will increase the deficit and that illegal immigration is multiplying.

The truth, of course, is that 95 percent of Americans have had their taxes cut by about $400 a year under Obama’s stimulus program. The economy has been growing for five straight quarters and the banks have repaid most of the TARP funds they received. The government will actually wind up with a small profit. Even the beleaguered auto industry is paying its money back. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says the health care law will actually lower the deficit within a few years and, if anyone bothered to check, the number of illegal immigrants this year is about a million fewer than in previous years.

A majority of senior citizens voted for Republicans even though it’s the party with the agenda to privatize Social Security and drastically alter Medicare.

What’s obvious is that the Republicans … did a fantastic job of convincing Americans that up was down and down was up. Meanwhile, the Democrats did a miserable job of telling the real story.

That master of propaganda, Nazi Joseph Goebbels, would have been proud.

Buffett wants higher taxes on himself. Is that so bad? Ayn Randian Selfishness a Virtue?

Why don't we listen to the wealthy when they plead for higher taxes?

It doesn't fit the Republican narrative. Hell, they're still considered the party of fiscal responsibility. This exemplifies the extreme hopelessness of the main stream media's inability to break away from the image marketed by conservative think tanks.

"This Week" with Christiane Amanpour tells the story:

On the other end, Ayn Randian believers are still trying so hard to make selfishness a virtue, an impossible task when you consider how inhumane and morally bankrupt it is to be cruel. Fox News goes strait to the source of Dickensian scumbags:

Cities Brace up, as Republican Congress won't help them recover from Recession.

Fox News reporter Claudia Cowan makes the hyperbolic claim that some cities could "virtually disappear." Sheppard Smith tried to walk the claim back but Cowan's fearful prediction is just what Fox News viewers eat for lunch, so that wasn't about to happen.

Let's be honest. The new Republican House will not bailout local and state governments this time around. Republican governors should be complaining, but aren't, because the financial statewide crisis plays into their hands. It just means more government cuts.

Arizona Republicans Warn Against Health Care Reform Rationing, While Rationing Health Care Statewide!!!

What really are the Republican spending priorities? Save a few lives or fix a stadium roof? The party of opposites are already rationing health care in Arizona through new governmnet regulations, while on the national stage, warn against "possible" Democratic socialist rationing.

Keith Olbermann explains how the GOP is having it both ways, along with Chris Hayes:

One Party Rule in Wisconsin Good Again, Declare Republicans.

The Fitzgerald brothers are in charge of our Republican legislature now, and Sen. Scott is now oddly touting the benefits of one party rule in Wisconsin, something they whined was unfair to the minority party and voters in the state once. Now it's "magically" good again.

You know how bad that bipartisan "horse trading" was when a Republican House held up the budget for no particular reason except for the fact that they could. Let's watch Scotty grow testy:

The Voting Public Embraces their batterer, Republicans, because things will be different now...lie to us some more.

The funny thing about the recent tidal wave Republican sweep of the elections, is that it was all based on a mountain of lies. Adding to that heap, the GOP is now repeating the notion that they now reflect the public rejection of what can be only described by realists as a fictionalized Obama administration.

How effective was the conservative campaign to mislead the public? Keith Olbermann shows us:

Lies:

Obamacare will add a trillion dollars to the deficit, which is just the opposite.

The stimulus failed, the opposite of the CBO estimates that indicate it saved and created 2 to 4 million jobs.

Obama increased the deficit with liberal spending, when he saved money and decreased the deficits the Bush administration estimated for this biennium.

Oh well.

Tell the Republicans to Man Up and Take the Media Questions.

The news media should stop allowing the Republicans to get away with running from reporters. If they run, report their refusal as an affront to the interests of voters to be informed. Easy isn’t it?

Ask conservative Americans to stop playing the picked on “media” victims, put their man pants on, and fight like hell in the political arena. But instead, the template is set in stone now, and the conservative campaign philosophy is to avoid the tough media questions and play the misunderstand, misquoted innocent victim of liberal smear tactics. It’s so obvious and overplayed. Take this recent example said perfectly by Sarah Palin:

Washington Post: (Palin) accused some in the Alaska media of being "corrupt bastards" who are conspiring to portray Miller negatively.

It was okay to say what was said about Hillary, Obama, Howard Dean, Russ Feingold, Al Franken etc. etc….but heaven forbid having conservatives explain their positions and controversial statements.

And after hearing for two years how the Democrats weren’t bipartisan enough, didn’t listen and didn’t include as many Republican ideas in health care reform as they should have, guess who is now saying they have no intention of being bipartisan or ever compromising?
Asked whether Republicans should compromise on principle after they get elected, Palin responded, "absolutely not," adding that "that's been part of the problem."
The biggest lie, and the most idiotic message anyone could have gotten from the electorate about the publics demands for compromise.

GOP exploits Women to win your vote. Why is this working?

I've written about it before, but there is a serious conservative effort to put moms, women in general, on the front lines as sympathetic victims of immoral liberal policies. The Republican Party's angry white strategists have paraded a growing list of out of touch mama grizzlies to take the slings and arrows of media criticism to show how un-American liberal Democrats are toward family values. And it's working.

Check out this blatant portrayal of female victim hood in this video clip from "Fire from the Heartland."

The video falsely claims "women are the last line of defense." Somehow, I think GOP strategist will come up with another phony group of victims...maybe animated singing frozen embryos.

Paladino the Hideous “Mad as Hell” embodiment of everything that is the Tea Party

What does it say about a misnamed “grass roots” tea party movement funded and directed by billionaires backing up millionaire candidates who say their sticking up for the “little guy?” We’re one step away from a government ruled by one party, demanding we listen and do things their way, all the while adhering to the Christian/Judeo teachings spelled out in our Constitution.

NY Times: Carl P. Paladino, a Buffalo multimillionaire who jolted the Republican Party with his bluster and belligerence …(is) at the top of the party’s ticket
We’ve heard a lot about the media’s mischaracterization of the tea party movement. Yet while they appear to be a group of bigoted, racist advocates of a mythical reworking of the Constitution, they say it’s just not true. Yet Paladino is their guy, with a personality and agenda that says otherwise:

Paladino, 64, energized Tea Party advocates and social conservatives with white-hot rhetoric and a damn-the-establishment attitude … who has forwarded e-mails to friends containing racist jokes and pornographic images, espoused turning prisons into dormitories where welfare recipients could be given classes on hygiene, and defended an ally’s comparison of the Assembly speaker, Sheldon Silver, who is Jewish, to “an Antichrist or a Hitler.”

Mr. Paladino … roamed the state with a pit bull named Duke … platform calls for cutting taxes by 10 percent in six months, eliminating cherished public pensions for legislators, and using eminent domain to prevent the construction of a mosque and community center near ground zero.

Sounds like a bipartisan guy to me. Nothing says Constitution more than a government taking of private property. But at the same time, the Republican Party is allowed to do whatever it takes to win an election…
The victory capped a topsy-turvy race in which the Republican state chairman, Edward F. Cox, doubting Mr. Lazio’s chances, tried to recruit a Democrat to carry the party’s banner, but then found himself outflanked by an insurgent whom he and much of the party’s leadership had denounced.
But running Republicans as Democrats is as American as apple pie.
Mr. Paladino’s daughter Danielle took the microphone and led the crowd in singing “God Bless America.”

Angle believes the Democrats are "Domestic Enemies" in Congress because Conservatives Don't like Policies.

As far as the Republicans scorched earth campaign philosophy goes, Democrats are now "domestic enemies," according to Sharron Angle.

Talk host Scott Hennen: "Certainly people who pass these kinds of policies, Obamacare, cap n trade, stimulus, bailout, they're certainly not friends of the free market system. So look the votes up and there are your domestic enemies."

Cap n trade and the bailouts were Republican ideas. Amazing stuff from Ed Schultz:

Enhanced by Zemanta

They voted for it, before they were against it! GOP, Palin supported Wall Street Bailout...oops!

So you're against the bailouts and think Republicans can do a "better" job?

They already did a "better" job, of convincing you they also voted against the bank bailouts, and that they have a plan to reduce the deficits . SUCKERS!!! Rachel Maddow has the sad story.

Obama Thumbed his nose at the WILL of the American people! So say my Demanding Authoritarian Conservative Friends.

My conservative friend left this comment on my story “Republican Plan Vengeance in House Takeover, and Public Yawns!".
"A plan of Vengence? Call it whatever you want, but since Obama has thumbed his nose at the WILL of the American people. This is a "grass roots" change we can believe in because this is a Government by the people ... As Obama sinks so do his supporters. "

The will of the people elected Democrats to reform health care. Oh well. A woman commented:
"Wow, John. Even if the Conservatives bring down the country, I'd much rather take that risk and accountability by thinking/caring adult citizens, than a bunch of self exulted, pro-big-govt, clever, charming Pinocchios.

Geez, which president spent millions to cover up his past records, and successfully bought and silenced the media and politicians, has ZERO experience, AND got voted in by liberal minded majority???

Yes, now we all must sleep in the bed we made. On the other hand, tax money is unlimited, of course."
"Glenn Beck, and Fox News, are guilty of challenging people to think for themselves, instead of listening to the mainstream media. What a
crime!"

I thought the above comments were pretty typical. It's amazing how much conservatives hate "liberal" Americans or as Ann puts it; "a bunch of self-exulted, pro-big-govt, clever, charming Pinocchio’s."

Hello, as I recall liberals didn't shut off discussions at town hall meeting by shouting phony lies about death panels, rationing and Nazi name calling. "Self-exulted, charming Pinocchios" aptly describes them and other conservative bullies who demanded having it their way.

Seems conservatives don't need to win elections, they just need to shout, bully and stamp their feet like "caring/thinking adults?" demanding they have it their way.

Well, liberals are just Americans trying to make things better. Brilliant? Some are. Liberals don't want to take over everything like fear monger Fox hosts declare, they don't want a global currency, they don't like Wall Street leading congress around by the nose, they don't like watching people die from preventable deaths...we're just people.

Conservatives say they believe in the constitution, but are willing to throw it out the window when it comes to building a mosque in NY (there's an exception for "feelings" I guess), hate government control of health care except in the case of Terri Schiavo when the entire GOP congress and President knew what was best. Conservatives love judicial activism if it works for them, but are ready to get even with judges-shoot them, in the case of Schiavo, if they rule against public opinion over and over.

There's always an exception with these guys. Like the lack of Republican outrage over the Koran burning that puts our troops in danger. Crickets.....
