Trump a Nationalist, Environmentalist...babbles on and on and Texas Mob Cheers!!!

Have you noticed how Trump's daily disasters, one breathless moment after another, has allowed Congress to do absolutely nothing policy-wise? This occurred to me when I was reading...

From the environment to energy to immigration to trade to health care...these are all controversial Trump edicts and department policy changes affecting the country and our way of life, conveniently bypassing Congress on everything.

And Trump voters don't give a rats ass:
Trump Losers: "I love everything that comes out of his mouth...."It doesn't matter what he says, we'll support it"... "I'm a Trumpett, I'll support anything, yes."

They'll love the following then...

1. Air Pollution? You can thank Trump who says "I am truly an environmentalist:"
MSNBC: Donald Trump has been alarmingly aggressive in going after environmental safeguards, relaxing pollution rules in the name of economic progress. The New York Times reported the Republican’s EPA “predicts its plan will see between 470 and 1,400 premature deaths annually by 2030.” Trump promoted a photoshopped global map that offered proof that the United States, “by far,” has the “Cleanest Air in the World.” Is this true? Alas, no. For one thing, the map pointed to air quality in 2016, which meant Trump was actually bragging about Obama-era air.

It’s against this backdrop that the president wants to be seen as, as Trump puts it, “an environmentalist.
"When you talk about environmental, I am truly an environmentalist. A lot of people smile when they hear that. But I have the cleanest air, and I’m going to have the cleanest air.”
2. Environmentalist Trump? Then who needs EPA's Science Advisor?
NPR: Under Administrator Pruitt, the EPA restricted the types of scientific studies it recognizes. And Pruitt also appointed several scientists who work for industries the EPA regulates.

3. Trump "takes" Time: This is a weird thing to go after, but heck, while Trump is tearing everything else apart, why not?

Marketplace: Meteorologists use the signals to track weather systems, utility companies rely on them to keep the electrical grid in sync, and medical institutions and broadcasters use them to keep their clocks accurate to within less than a second. Ham radio hobbyists use the stations to calibrate their equipment. One of them has started a petition to protect the stations from cuts.

They also worry that the cuts will lead to the elimination of a third station that keeps clocks in sync. WWVB is used to automatically synchronize millions of wall clocks and watches in schools, hospitals, and homes nationwide.  Allan McCormick’s company, LaCrosse Technology, manufactures and sells those devices. He says if all three government time signals were eliminated, his company's products would go haywire.
4. Trump Borrowing pays for Tax Cuts: Don't say we didn't warn you...
5. Trump tells Drooling Mob he's a Nationalists!!! This isn't a surprise and predictably a moment for the proud white despicables to cheer. When this ride is over, I will personally show them no mercy:
“A globalist is a person who wants the globe to do well — frankly, not caring about our country so much,” Trump told the Texans, reaching for a word that’s long been a favorite of those who believe there’s an international conspiracy led by Jews. “And you know what, we can’t have that. … You know what I am? I’m a nationalist. Use that word.” Thousands of dangerous extreme right-wingers, from Nuremberg to Charlottesville, have flown the banner of “nationalism” — but never before with a presidential seal of approval. And the crowd went wild, chanting, “USA! USA!”

Like Walker, Kleefisch plays Race Card, says Tiki Torch White Nationalism No "Big Deal!"

White nationalism...no big deal? Not for Lilly white Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, who made an amazingly shocking admission in a recent tweet about black Democratic Lt. Gov. candidate Mandela Barnes; tiki torch carrying white nationalism no big deal. That goes along with the Trumpian meme; Black Lives Matter is a terrorist group and kneeling players support them.

Oh, and somewhere in Becky's brain, this made sense; white nationalism = tonsillectomies?

You can't make this kind of stuff up:

...like killing ObamaCare is not like dying without health insurance.

I should note that like all conservative policy, Kleefisch's claim is based on anecdotal, second-hand information that's often made up, or what conspiratorial Republicans like to call "facts."
Asked Monday if she had seen Barnes kneeling during the national anthem or had seen evidence of him kneeling, she answered, “What I mentioned was that people had told me this.” She did not say who those people were.
“It was at an event that we both attended at the opening of State Fair Park at the Wisconsin State Fair, during the playing of the national anthem. As I always do, I was looking at the flag with my hand over my heart.”
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett made the more logical conclusion, racism:
Barrett said he believes the allegations are "racially tinged." "Here in the state they've perfected the dog whistle," Barrett said. He added that the only difference is at the national level President Donald Trump instead uses a "circus whistle."
BREAKING: Race bating Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch caught lying, has to apologize:

She backed off of her claim Tuesday, a day after she tried to stick by it. "I have to believe him and I have to apologize for something I was told," Kleefisch said on WTMJ-AM (620).

You're not Victims, you're White Nationalists!

The Republican Party's victim act is not just getting old, but needs to stop, now.

Being an adult, and applying just a little common sense tells us this has gone too far. Oh, and the use of these two magic words, "left wing," doesn't suddenly make racism disappear:
WHA: Trump supporters, such as National Review Online contributing editor Deroy Murdock, contend that tying Trump to white supremacy is no more than a cynical political ploy. "The 'Donald Trump = David Duke' narrative is a bright, shining, left-wing lie."
And don't you love the switcheroo where Republicans, who terrify white voters with threats of illegal immigration, Black Lives Matter, and the Muslim faith, falsely blame Democrats for using that very tactic. It's the old second-grade retort "I know you are but what am I?"
"It’s designed to make Trump radioactive, sandbag his agenda, and terrify black voters so they’ll stampede the polls and save the Democrats’ bacon in November 2018. The Left deserves universal scorn for deploying such political plutonium," said Murdock.
Walker thinks it's Obama's Fault Republicans are terrifying whites

Political plutonium? The ploy here is to use "bright and shiny" words that are so over the top, that at least a little of that must be true, right? But just a little common sense cuts through the fear-mongering:

Heidi Beirich, director of the Intelligence Project at Southern Poverty Law Center. "The
rise in hate groups started in 2000, and that’s the year when the census said white people will become a minority in 2040s. Trump played into racist instincts. They (white supremacist groups) view Trump as a good political force for their beliefs."

Alix Olson, a retired Madison Police Department detective who founded the organization Seeking Tolerance and Justice Over Hate, said Trump’s election has emboldened hate groups "who felt before that they didn't have a voice. This administration has given carte blanche to white supremacy. Everything is starting to become undone to the detriment of people who have way less power than white people do."
The abandonment of common sense has gotten so bad that even this clueless former president couldn't hold back from saying the obvious:
Former president George W. Bush to call on the public to reject white supremacy and racism. "Bigotry or white supremacy in any form is blasphemy against the American creed. Bullying and prejudice in our public life sets a national tone, provides permission for cruelty and bigotry, and compromises the moral education of children."

Freed White Republican Nationalism in Milwaukee spills out...

While I was thinking about how I would put together the following blog post, story after story kept popping up about the Trump wave of white nationalism sweeping the Republican Party. Oh sure many in the GOP have renounced what Trump said, but almost no one dared to mention Trump's name or called for any measures dealing with public outrage.

WISN12 had this amazing story that got very little reaction on twitter...even the signature right-wing misspelling, "Demorcrats," wasn't enough to get a mention?

And of course the following cover art featuring Trump in a way that might break get through to those blind obedient admirers:

Or these....

Vice News/HBO's Charlottesville documentary's eye opening look at White Nationalist Rise!

The incredibly timely video below is a must see that reveals the twisted thinking of the white nationalist movement. All but ignored by the Trump administration, the alt right leaders now have an opportunity to become a legitimate destabilizing political player in our country.

Add to that the news that Trump official Sebastian Gorka's wife helped set the white nationalists free from Homeland Security oversight program CVE, we've got a real problem on our hands:
Controversial Trump Aide Katharine Gorka Helped End Funding For Group (Life After Hate) That Fights White Supremacy. The day after Trump won the election, Sebastian Gorka said, “I predict with absolute certitude, the jettisoning of concepts such as CVE (Countering Violent Extremism).”

The DHS had awarded the Life After Hate $400,000 as part of its Countering Violent Extremism program in January, just days before former President Barack Obama left office. It was the only group selected for a grant that focused exclusively on fighting white supremacy. But the grant money was not immediately disbursed. DHS and the FBI warned in an internal intelligence bulletin of the threat posed by white supremacy. White supremacists “were responsible for 49 homicides in 26 attacks from 2000 to 2016 … more than any other domestic extremist movement,”
Vice News, to the outlet's immense credit, was on the ground to document the events in Charlottesville this weekend. They even embedded, for a time, with white supremacist leader Chris Cantwell. What they found speaks for itself, but keep an eye out for the little things. Like, say, how many guns these white supremacists have.

Here's John Oliver's commentary on Trump's "on many sides" debacle:

Another Frightened White Nationalist Victim of Liberalism wrongly Whines about "Censorship" at Berkeley.

My conservative friend in Milwaukee continues to avoid responsibility for his Trumpian partys fascist tactics by pointing out examples of liberal censorship on campus. But Berkeley, a state university, did not censor Milo Yiannopoulos, editor for the conservative website Breitbart. Protesters instead scared him off.

Milo Yiannopoulos; Victim and Hero: Frightened conservative zealots use campus protests to build their credentials, by canceling speeches and pretending their life would have been in danger around liberal protesters. That's why some campus' are reluctant to invite some of their more elite speakers; the expensive security they demand is beyond any university budget. ABC News:
A planned appearance Wednesday by controversial internet figure Milo Yiannopoulos, an editor for the conservative website Breitbart was canceled after protests turned violent on the U.C. Berkeley campus. A similar event at UC Davis was also canceled. Protesters took to the streets of Berkeley after police dispersed the crowd at the university.
Of course extreme conservative free speech topics may have something to do with all the resulting blowback. Funny thing, Republicans want all the free speech they can get, but without all the consequences.

The 32-year-old Greek-born British journalist is a senior editor for the conservative news and opinion website Breitbart ... a spokesperson for the so-called "alt-right" movement for his extreme views on Islam, social justice, and political correctness. He's a self-proclaimed "internet troll" who has been widely criticized for being racist and misogynistic.

Trump Idea or Fox Fake News Networks? Trump has admitted he gets his news from TV and Twitter:
Perhaps the president had started his morning by tuning in to Fox News. Shortly before Trump sent his tweet, commentator Todd Starnes had said that “President Trump should immediately issue an executive order blocking Berkeley students from receiving any federal funding. Same goes for any other public university that wants to silence conservative voices. Free speech for all or no federal money, not a single taxpayer penny, period.”
Followed up by....

Ah, didn't Trump just threaten government censorship by withholding federal funds? Ya think?

Berkeley University police weren't convinced student protesters were responsible for the violence. In fact the protests were planned for weeks, giving agitators time to plan out the attacks:
The university's police chief, Margo Bennet, told reporters,“I do not believe our students were involved in the vandalism and the violent behavior that occurred. This was a group of agitators who were masked up, throwing rocks, commercial-grade fireworks and Molotov cocktails at officers. Those were not our students. That's not our students' behavior.”
But what about Trump's threat?
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) on Thursday released a statement calling the president's apparent threat an "abuse of power." "President Donald Trump cannot bully our university into silence. Simply put, President Trump’s empty threat to cut funding from UC Berkeley is an abuse of power."
The first thing that occurred to me was how legal was Trump's threat, which still has not been reported in any of my searches:
The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, a Philadelphia-based group that promotes free speech and due process rights at colleges and universities, stated that there was no evidence that Berkeley as an institution had made any effort to silence Yiannopoulos.

“Those who engage in violent and/or destructive protests are ultimately responsible for their unlawful behavior and may be subject to arrest and prosecution by law enforcement. To punish an educational institution for the criminal behavior of those not under its control and in contravention of its policies, whether through the loss of federal funds or through any other means, would be deeply inappropriate and most likely unlawful.”
More on this as the legal questions get answered.

On the more humorous side, you could "sort of" look at this brewing civil war "sort of" like this:
Berkeley College Republicans Jose Diaz: "We want to bring someone here on campus to help speak on issues that sort of opens the dialogue."

Republicans seek to Censor UW course "The Problem of Whiteness...understanding white identity and non-white identity across the globe."

When Republicans advocate for “academic freedom,” and then get just that, they get angry it’s not exactly what they were thinking. I'm talking about a UW course titled “The Problem of Whiteness.”

Add to that the threats of government censorship, and you’ve got a Republican Party out of control. JS:
Two leading state Republican lawmakers are threatening the University of Wisconsin System that if it doesn't remove a course called "The Problem of Whiteness" from UW-Madison's spring semester offerings, the UW's requests for more state funding and a bump in tuition may be denied during budget deliberations next year.
Republicans total lack of self awareness, especially after voting overwhelmingly for the divisive, racist, and bigoted Donald Trump, has never been more obvious. They actually think the UW course teaches young people to distrust each other. Folks, you can’t make this stuff up…
Rep. Dave Murphy of Greenville, said he and his staff looked at "The Problem of Whiteness" course description and the background of the professor who plans to teach it, and concluded: "We are teaching our young people to distrust each other, and that's sad," Murphy said. "We are adding to the polarization of the races in our state. This does not bring people together. This divides people."
And after decades of criticizing the UW for political correctness, they’re now freaking out over the lack of political correctness…having it both ways? This from the Trump party of alt-right white nationalists:
Murphy said he didn't understand "how a University that preaches political correctness can stand by a professor who openly condones violence against law enforcement and compares white voters to the KKK. If UW-Madison stands with this professor, I don’t know how the University can expect the taxpayers to stand with UW-Madison.”
The threat of government censorship...
This is the second time in less than six months that a legislator has threatened UW System funding over course offerings at the state's flagship university.
Here's what that completely voluntary class teaches students, so offending our politically correct Republicans:
The university said the course title "refers to the challenge of understanding white identity and non-white identity across the globe" and that the course, "which is one of thousands offered at our university, will benefit students who are interested in developing a deeper understanding of race issues. The course is a challenge and response to racism of all kinds."

Toss Politically Correct term "Alt-Right," call it White Nationalism, spreading Fear everywhere. Return of Internment Camps?

Talk radio's outgoing conservative voice Charlie Sykes is finally leveling with his listeners and below, UW students. WPR:
Charlie Sykes: 2016 Election Normalized Racism, Xenophobia: Conservative Talk Radio Host Tells UW-Madison Crowd Racism Is A 'Cancer' The GOP Needs To Confront.

Sykes told a crowd on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus Tuesday it is impossible to talk about President-elect Donald Trump without discussing the "racism and xenophobia" that has been normalized by his campaign, calling them a "cancer" the Republican Party will have to confront.

Sykes singled out Breitbart News Chairman Steve Bannon, who helped run Trump's campaign and who was tapped by Trump to be his chief strategist in the White House.
"I don't know whether Steve Bannon in his heart is an anti-Semite or a racist, but I do know that he's opened the door, he's normalized them, and he's enabled them. And that will have real consequences."

Toss out the "politically correct" term alt-right: Republican Steve Schmidt said it best about the "white nationalist" Trump administration:

Dumb Ron Johnson and Scott Walker have no problem with Trump's pick of Steve Bannon:
Andrew Beckett /Wisconsin Radio Network: "On that topic of political difference issues here, the president-elect has been facing a lot of criticism this week over the appointment of Steve Bannon in his administration. Do you have any thoughts on his inclusion in a Trump White House?"

Sen. Johnson: "You've got people who opposed President-Elect Trump's election here. They're exploiting a political difference right off the bat. Why don't we give President-Elect Trump and his administration a chance to stand up their administration and start governing?"

Unapologetic white nationalism is spreading everywhere, like Beloit, WI. WISC:

Or this West side Madison incident where Trump supporters sent a letter to black families declaring "we won" and that they were no longer welcome at the swim club: plus discriminatory language and fights with black students in area schools; and area families feeling threatened:

Sykes: "What troubled me about this campaign – and I know the way this actually sounds – that here you have the strong man who comes in and says, 'I alone can fix things, I am the man on the white horse, and all of your problems have to do with these foreigners and these brown people.'  And that resonated with people."
And while Republican repetition lives on forever in the form of talking points, Democratic alerts about right wing racism...yawn, heard that before:
Sykes said part of the reason many voters dismissed suggestions Trump's campaign was racist or sexist is because Democrats have used the terms to describe so many Republicans over the years and the words lost meaning.
"If in fact Mitt Romney is a racist waging a war on women, if John McCain is a racist waging a war on women, what happens when the real thing comes along and you say, 'Wait, here's a racist who's waging a war on women?' People say, 'Yeah, you say that every time.'"
Return of the internment camps? Public fear is building, and for good reason. We're already talking about internment camps:
