Republicans Secret Propaganda site "Free Telegraph" under Scott Walker control, creating his own Pravda!!!

The Soviet Union had the right idea.

It was supposed to be a secret, and the Republican Governors Association Chairman Scott Walker did what could to make it untraceable. Why would he do that?

Daily Dot
AP: The website was registered July 7 through Domains By Proxy, a company that allows the originators of a website to shield their identities. An AP search did not find any corporate, Federal Election Commission or IRS filings establishing The Free Telegraph as an independent entity. As of early Monday afternoon, The Free Telegraph’s Twitter account and Facebook page still had no obvious identifiers tying the site to RGA.

“It’s propaganda for sure, even if they have objective standards and all the reporting is 100 percent accurate,” said Republican communications veteran Rick Tyler, whose resume includes Ted Cruz’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Democrats say Republicans are laying the groundwork with headlines that will appear in future digital and television ads, while also providing individual voters with fodder to distribute across social media.
See the GIF below, it says right there it's a Media/News Company. Not one bit deceptive. Think about this too:

Political communications expert Kathleen Hall Jamieson, a University of Pennsylvania professor who has studied political advertising for four decades, said The Free Telegraph commits a form of “identity theft” by “appropriating the integrity of news” because “the form of news carries credibility” that blatantly partisan sites do not.

Jamieson was particularly critical of RGA’s initial failure to disclosure its involvement. “What we know about audiences is they factor in the source of information when judging that information,” she said. “If you are denying the reader, the listener or the viewer information you know the reader uses, the question is why do you feel the need to do this?”

WISN News Director Herrera: "I will never...set foot in Dane County...liberal bastion...avoid giving money to the libs who have businesses there."

With never an original thought in their Borg-like heads, the Republican talk radio machine now wants to copy the growing business boycott of bigoted North Caroline, by boycotting Dane County.

After right-to-work was struck down by an enemy of the state, a “liberal” judge, WISN Radio's news director Ken Herrera hatched the idea. Of course it goes without saying that conservative judges are almost always right. And if their not, they're purged from the system (see Kansas Supreme Court).

What's most appalling is that a radio station’s NEWS DIRECTOR is pushing this by making it public. Which begs the question; what else is Herrera choosing to spin, ignore or censor in the station’s coverage of news?

What is he directing WISN News to ignore or spin?
Outdoing his own authoritarian right wing talk show bloviators, Herrera just opened a whole new can of worms; are the talkers just a distraction from the more silent subversive nationwide movement toward an extensive network that's dedicated to right wing propaganda…via our public airwaves?

It’s interesting to note the hypocrisy; Republicans have always opposed boycotts, going so far as to protect campaign donor names and employee contributors to ward off a possible public backlash effecting their businesses bottom line. Another “principled” flip flop?

Personally, it's hard to imagine a more outlandish statement coming from someone the public assumes is unbiased and fair. Nice catch by the Devil’s Advocates, who wrote:
Dom: "I wonder if his opinions on 'libs' and Dane County impact decisions on what 'news and information' he is employed to direct."
Here's Herrera's Facebook comment, where he even hates businesses owned by liberal job creators:
Ken Herrera: "No surprise here...it's a Dane county judge...I am happy to say that in the 12 years I have lived in Wisconsin...I have never...and will never, set foot in Dane county. I don't want to spend even one penny in that liberal bastion. It's sort of a personal thing…but my wife and I agree we will never enter Dane county as long as we live. We have actually taken routes WAY around the county to avoid giving money to the libs who have businesses there...this has been my personal boycott for as long as I've lived in WIsconsin...and I'm quite sure I will never, ever spend a penny in Dane county...because I will never, ever visit... I wish every conservative in the state would adopt the same pledge... avoid this county... when you spend money there you are only helping the liberal cause..."
Herrera went on to highlight his stations influence on public perception, especially when it came to the raw pro-Ted Cruz propaganda, like it was a bragging point:

Herrera's Facebook supporters like Andy Smith are proving the slide into right wing authoritarianism is on the fast track:
Andy Smith Slap! Frap! Zowie! Oooof! Bam! GOOD JOB, KEN. I listened to you on WBBM, I had the pleasure and honor of working with you at both WTMJ and then-Clear Channel. You label what's news and what's comment . . . they merely resent that everyone doesn't listen to CLEARLY Left Wing "public" (translate: government radio), which NEVER distinguishes "news" from Leftist agenda setting and active Leftist agenda advancement.
After that twisted rant, the liberal enemies of the state reacted with humor and criticism:

Andy Smith's response made it clear humor, speech and dissent will not tolerated, in another bad case of projection:
“Amazing (well, actually not a surprise) to read the red-hot hatred firing from the typing fingers of all those, tolerant, accepting, kind, thoughtful Leftists in Dane County who CANNOT STAND anyone whose attitudes, opinions and behavior are not in LOCK STEP with their own. It's disgraceful, but as we've learned in so many ways, it is also predictable and consistent. So filled with vile hatred!”
UPDATE: WISN News Director Ken Herrera is now officially a victim, thanks to his own right wing commentary. Herrera's attempted to save his credibility ranks right up there with "former" bigot and political partisan Justice Rebecca Bradley, insisting his personal beliefs don't influence his job:
Ken Herrera No... it's a personal boycott...to answer your question about whether my personal beliefs interfere with my news judgment.. The left is always holding boycotts that are highly publicized.. mine has been, until now, a quiet, personal one that has nothing to do with my selection of news stories to run...or the "slant" of any story. I think any listener to WISN will know I run stories that are pro-left.. and anti-left just as much as those that are pro-right or anti-right. I just personally don't agree with much of what the left holds out, so I choose, as an individual, not to contribute my money to the left. That's just a personal decision and has nothing to do with my profession... one I have followed for almost 40 years now and I believe you won't find anyone in the country who would question my ethics as a journalist. Except, of course, you... based on a simple Facebook post. But I'm not surprised because that's usually the way folks on the left operate...

Sadly, there’s no Republican media filter…?

Circular Bubble World Thinking: Want to know why facts and linked news stories don't seem to impress, change minds, or ever pierce that impenetrable right wing bubble? The answer is contained in the short Vicki McKenna Facebook conversation pictured here. It brings to mind this interesting quote:
"All propaganda must be presented in a popular form and must fix its intellectual level so as not to be above the heads of the least intellectual of those to whom it is directed."
And that brings us to Vicki McKenna's radio ministry of propaganda, where all media news stories are said to pass through a liberal filter. Another example of projection as well:

Walker Celebrates Radio Talk Hosts Right Wing Spin Machine Anniversary. Shameless Admission?

Jaw dropping and crass? While Democrats bump into walls trying to shape a message, the right wing propagandists are openly celebrating the anniversary of another misinformation network of fake outrage and sidetrack issues.

And the governor publically and shamelessly loves it.
Message to Democrats, since there's nothing secret about their authoritarian right wing intentions, why are we still talking about compromise?

 More accolades pouring in...

Frank Luntz paid by Ryan to spread Media Propaganda on CBS and Fox News!

If liberals were anything like Republicans, our hair would be on fire. We would be bawling our heads off, whining for months on end, and outraged over the deceptive electioneering by a disgusting spokesperson of the party. But alas...we're not.

Pollster and word shifter Frank Luntz received campaign money from Paul Ryan to trash Joe Biden on CBS and Fox News. Oh, I'm sorry... "may have" bragged up Ryan for money. But how could we know? Facts cannot be believed if you read them at Media Matters:
CBS News political analyst Frank Luntz had a major undisclosed conflict of interest while appearing on the network. While Luntz used his pre-election platform on CBS to praise Rep. Paul Ryan, his consulting firm,Luntz Global LLC, received $40,000 in consulting and polling fees from Rep. Paul Ryan's congressional campaign.

On CBS, Luntz called Ryan a "very popular" congressman who could help Romney win Wisconsin. Luntz also used his CBS appearances to attack his client's vice presidential opponent. He claimed that Biden's debate performance was a turnoff to voters and suggested it showed that the Obama administration can't work with congress. Luntz made eleven CBS appearances to discuss the presidential campaign from September 24 -- when Luntz's firm first received a payment from Ryan -- through November.
Isn't it just like the liberal socialists at Media Matters to make the facts looks so damning?

Liberal Media Caught Poll Tampering? What's next, an Obama Food Stamp Army of Voters...?

Here's a compilation of Fox News propaganda meant to rev up conservative voters, by fabricating a conspiracy around the liberal media's attempt to reelect Obama. Colbert was removed to prevent video blocking, sorry.

I never did understand why anyone would object to voter registration taking place at the same time someone applies for a license or some other government service, but Republicans just hate the idea. This absurd comment about an Obama food stamp army of voters is priceless and surreal:

Democrats mistake; Repeating a False Claim will be misremembered as true by many.

I’ve always tried to understand the conservative mind, and why Republicans never seem to learn from their mistakes. It’s the lies.

While Germany’s Joseph Geobbels loved repeating a lie often, many unintentionally repeated that lie while disproving it. Big mistake. The following is a short sample of a story at Think Progress by Joe Romm, about his Kindle book “Language Intelligence.” Never forget the lesson here:
This post reviews why you shouldn’t repeat a myth you are trying to debunk.

President Obama’s failure to speak out repeatedly on the urgency of climate action is his biggest communications mistake. If our leaders don’t talk about an issue, it generally won’t become sufficiently salient for either the media or the public.

But Obama’s statement at the Democratic convention — responding to Romney’s mockery of his 2008 pledge of climate action — also contained a classic messaging mistake:

"And yes, my plan will continue to reduce the carbon pollution that is heating our planet – because climate change is not a hoax...."
The social science literature is quite clear that repeating a myth is not the best way to debunk it. Indeed, there is evidence that it can actually end up promoting that myth.

Even more insidious, “when people find a claim familiar because of prior exposure but do not recall the original context or source of the claim, they tend to think that the claim is true,” as noted a 2005 journal article, “How Warnings about False Claims Become Recommendations,” which concluded ... Telling people that a consumer claim is false can make them misremember it as true.

Romney/Ryan Playbook and Talking points just like Bush's.

With a little research and nice editing, Ed Schultz feature a compilation of clips that show how unoriginal the Republican Party is. Yes, we've seen this movie before....

Howard Dean compared the old Soviet style propaganda techniques to those being used by the Romney/Ryan campaign. He's right. Fun stuff, and Ed Schultz in energized and up to speed on the issues:

Radio's Screeching Battleaxe Vicki McKenna Poisons Eau Claire Area's Airwaves.

Vicki McKenna brought here biting trailer trash radio carnival to Eau Claire recently, and guess what, the area flipped their vote from Tom Barrett to Scott Walker. Radio propaganda is alive and well in the U.S.. It funny how the whole country is also slithering further and further right. I assume the media thinks it’s all just a coincidence?
WSJ: La Crosse and two other counties flipped from Republican red to Democratic blue between 2010 and Tuesday: Kenosha and Columbia. There also were four Wisconsin counties — Crawford, Eau Claire, Green and Trempeleau counties — that reversed results from 2010 and went for Walker over Barrett.

Right Wing Revisionist History Documentary exposes how conservatives are "standing up to experts."

While Democrats talk of working together and making both sides happy, conservatives are militantly forging ahead with their radical agenda in the most unapologetic, in your face way.

It's hard to imagine how the Republican movement won't be the default political system in the next decade. To help their cause, school textbooks must be vessels of right wing propaganda to simply counter real world science, or what they see as liberal indoctrination by snooty  "left wing experts."

Stephen Colbert interviewed the frighteningly religious, former chair of the Texas School Board, Don McLeroy. Colbert showed the following clip that encapsulates the whole argument conservatives have against public education. Three more years under Scott Walker and Wisconsin schools boards will be making the same kind of arguments.

Here's more on the The Revisionaries" documentary:

Scott Thurman, born in Lubbock, Texas is an M.F.A. graduate in documentary film from the University of North Texas. Scott originally conceived of a documentary film about the Texas Board of Education for his thesis project "Standing Up to the Experts."

Here's the official clip of the documentary:

Conservative Ayn Rander Ron Johnson's propaganda, Brainwashes Students

Offering a diverse group of speakers to speak to high school students doesn’t mean you invite hyperbolic fear mongering conservative demagogues who’s economic leanings are based more on ideology than reality.

We should at least have a standard set in place where professionals, politicians, have a proven track record of success. What can you say about a politician who continues to refer to health care reform as a “government takeover,” a complete fabrication voted the biggest lie of 2010. Johnson has done nothing the last 6 months except echo the tea party message of draconian cuts and trickle down “voodoo economics.”  Janesville educators should be wondering why anyone would have included a politician with absolutely no experience or track record. What can students learn from partisan mumbo jumbo?

Ron Johnson doesn’t want to be placed on a pedestal. That’s what the first-time Wisconsin U.S. senator, a Republican from Oshkosh, told students in Advanced Placement Politics and Government classes at Beloit Memorial High School today.

The 80-plus students from educators James Hoey and Lyman Elliott’s four classes listened attentively … (Ron Johnson said) “Our national debt today stands at $14.3 trillion. That is immoral and it is going to greatly affect you, your children and my grandchildren."
The numbers and comments drew rumblings from the crowd.

Johnson then went on to fabricate the idea Obama “demonized” doctors, touted a free market that took down the global economy and now wants to go back to a private insurance industry that has priced 52 million people out of the health care. I’ve been covering this guy since his campaign, and disputed every point in an Upfront with Mike Gousha appearance.  I’ve included it below:

The launching point for his decision to run for office came after President Obama “demonized” the quality of today’s medical doctors and healthcare as part of his push for national healthcare, he said. A speech at a tea party event jumpstarted his final push for public office, he told the students.
“The power of the free market system is an incredible thing,” he said. “Take advantage of it, appreciate it and vote. Get involved, make sure you are informed before you vote.”

It would help to be an informed senator too.

Republicans Tearing Down Reality: Down the Rabbit Hole Logic, and “Muddying the Waters” on Big Oil Subsidies.

I don’t even know where to start on this one:
WKOW: Republicans are calling President Barack Obama's call to end tax breaks and subsidies for oil companies a ploy to introduce a tax increase that they say would end up costing jobs.
Huh? The tax increase aside (are they hallucinating?), with Big Oil and the help of Wall Street speculators raking in obscene global profits on $4 a gallon gas at the pump, stopping tax payer assistance to these companies would...cost jobs?
Remember when prices were at $2.95 a gallon, and Republicans criticized Obama’s cap and trade proposal as a job killer because it would increase prices at the pump, among other things? Have Big Oil and speculators been criticized by the Republicans for KILLING JOBS? NO!
Obama's call for oil company tax breaks to end comes as these companies are raking in booming profits, and while gas prices are surging toward record highs.
Stepping through the looking glass, Oklahoma Rep. Jim Lankford “muddied the waters” with this:
In the weekly GOP radio and Internet address, Congressman Lankford says that Obama's plan will "hurt the everyday consumer of energy" in addition to putting jobs at risk.
Good god!!! Who’s this stupid?

Say it over and over again; Obama's $4 pump prices are hurting consumers….

Odd, Paul Ryan likes the Fair and Balanced Agenda for America!

Not only is Fox News an admitted arm of the Republican propaganda machine, Rep. Paul Ryan openly accepted and got behind their talking points in front of thousands of viewers.

It's Obama's Fault...now.

Just how effective is the Republican propaganda in the "mainstream media" when it comes to selling the conservatives "Obama is destroying the country" point of view? Besides their 92 percent talk media domination, Fox News, and their one note platform, should we be surprised? (this is the right leaning Rassmussen poll after all)

Forty-eight percent of voters now believe that President Obama's policies are to blame for the bad economy, while 47 percent fault former President George W. Bush.

According to a new Rasmussen survey, Obama's 48 percent represents a three-point increase since last month, giving him a greater share of the blame than Bush for the first time since May 2009, when the question was first polled.

At that time, 62 percent of likely voters blamed Bush and 27 percent blamed Obama.

Sharron Angle: "...report the news the way we want it reported."

Here's an interesting look at the future of media in this country, especially if its eventual move to the extreme right continues, with Fox News offering this accidental peak behind the wizards curtain:
Nevada GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle gave a revealing interview Monday to Fox News' Carl Cameron, in which she said that her campaign wanted the press "to be our friend."

"We wanted them to ask the questions we want to answer, so that they report the news the way we want it reported."

Repackaging the Nuke Option, the Ultimate in GOP Spin.

For a real lesson in marketing and product identification, this effort by the Republicans on redefining the nuke option as reconciliation as opposed to doing away with the filibuster, is a wonder to behold. What I'm wondering is how they can plan something like this without a paper trail or secretly recorded clips of their propagandist meetings. Rachel Maddow picks this insanity apart piece by piece.

Luntz...Goebbels...Luntz...Goebbels....Luntz...Goebbels...

Frank Luntz knows how to "frame" an issue. He's good at it. On the Democratic side we have marketing framers, but no one listens to them. The party that knows how to govern, albeit badly, are Republicans. They get things done and will resort to anything to push their agenda.

The bizarre aspect to all of this is that people like the "sound" of the rhetoric and buy into it. Keith Olbermann takes a peek at the ugly innards.
