MAGA Fascism hits speed ramp...

Gov. Ron DeSantis' fascist movement is enough to depress anyone, especially when you realize there is no press coverage listing the legal challenges, wins, stays, and court actions giving us some thin shred of hope.

DeSantis' agenda is blatantly racist and overtly bigoted, as it is authoritarian. Think about it, he's banning freedoms we already have with DeSantis' newly defined "real" freedoms. And MAGAs have already been told that liberals are the real fascists, so you can't argue that, says my MAGA friend in Milwaukee.

Myth of Liberal Indoctrination: So, if there is a nationwide super majority of MAGAs, and Trump is really still president, wouldn't that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that "liberal indoctrination" isn't real?

For the Kids: And then there's the grotesque political use of "children" to justify their authoritarian agenda. They pathetically use "protecting our children" for everything. Think about it, DeSantis has banned subjects and books that any kid's cell phone can access with a simple search. And kids at drag show brunches are there because their parents brought them. But sure, punish businesses under the iron fist of big government.

DeSantis' Fascism and replacement Freedoms, let us Count the Ways Nationwide: Ironically, DeSantis has created the new "woke" in Florida. It can't be emphasized enough how fast this is rolling out:

1. Defamation Lawsuits nationwide Chill Free Speech

House Bill 991 would also give Florida residents the right to sue others (both in the state or elsewhere in the U.S.) who describe their actions online as transphobic or homophobic, for sums as high as $35,000, and would not allow the truth to be used in defenses against such lawsuits ... a person suing another over being called out for their bigoted words online would only have to suggest that their commentary was reflective of their personal religious or (purportedly) scientific beliefs in order to be successful in their suit. The bill would allow Florida residents to sue anyone, not just other Floridians ... the bill’s author Republican Rep. Alex Andrade defended it, stating “This is not the government shutting down free speech. This is a private cause of action.”

2. DeSantis' Academic Thought and Behavior Control:

All state colleges and universities must remove Women’s & Gender Studies from the list of available majors and minors. No major or minor can exist if it is deemed to be “derivative” from the “belief system” of “Critical Race Theory”

3. DeSantis School Book Ban Clears Shelves:

...but DeSantis asks, "Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?"

4. Terminate Dept of Education: Pretty clear...

5. Banned History = Imbecilic Citizens

One should keep in mind the ignorance visited upon American students when the historical truth is hidden from them and let history be their guide. In the 1960s, the young white students of the “counter-culture” movement became angry when they learned about the poverty in what author Michael Harrington called, “The Other America.” The students, isolated in the new 1950s “vanilla suburbs” of endless whiteness, became “awoke” to Harrington’s description of poverty on the other side of the proverbial tracks. Coupled with the awokeness resulting from the glaring war in Vietnam and the King-led Civil Rights movement, this awoke generation demanded a relevant education system that would advance their minds.
6. Florida to Legalize Child Kidnapping, for their own good:

7. Rename Our Nation's Schools: Plus, Trump's New Baby Boom Bonus

um..."Honour a Reichsdeutsche German mother for exceptional merit to the German nation. From 1939 until 1945 in three classes: bronze, silver, and gold, to Reichsdeutsche mothers who exhibited probity, exemplary motherhood, and who conceived and raised at least four or more children in the role of a parent.

8. Ban Internet Medical Information for Women

9. Death Penalty for Women who got Abortion: And they said they would never write such a law:
The author of this bill, Rep. Rob Harris of Spartanburg (District 36), said "If we call it life and define it as life, then why should anyone, not just mothers, why should anybody be able to take that life? If it’s life it needs to be protected like any other life," said Harris.
10. A Felony for "Divisive Materials" in Schools: Define that...? Hard core porn in schools? Sure...

Sen. Spencer Deery, a Republican representing parts of Tippecanoe County who voted in favor of the bill, said "when I talk to our attorneys who write the law in the legislature, we're talking about hard-core pornography, which would lack literary value to minors. If you don't get that definition, the bill looks frightening."
11. DeSantis and Putin Blogger Registry: Seriously. No, bloggers are not like lobbyist! Nuts:

A Republican state senator in Florida would require bloggers who write about Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), his Cabinet officers and members of the Florida legislature to register with the state.

Bloggers who receive compensation for a given online post about an elected state officer would have to register with the Florida Office of Legislative Services or the Commission on Ethics ... “the blogger must register with the appropriate office … within 5 days after the first 164 by the blogger which mentions an elected state officer,” reads the bill, introduced by Republican state Sen. Jason Brodeur.

If additional posts about elected state officers were to be posted, the blogger would have to file monthly reports detailing where, when and by whom the post was published, plus the amount of compensation received. Failure to file reports could lead to fines.
12. Gaetz demands Government be on MAGA side, or Defund the Nations Police?

13. Bring Back Lynchings: You heard him...

14. "Transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely."

Then there's this insane reaction...

15. Red State's push to Remove "Rogue" DA's they disagree with:

Kelly and Dorow are Federalist Society Conservatives fighting “liberal orthodoxy,” and dedicated to “reordering priorities within the legal system.

It's time we end the lie judge and Justice races are "nonpartisan?"

The GOP Complaint Scheme, Press Falls for it #1:  The last straw for me came when a politically driven "complaint" was filed dialing up phony outrage, specifically designed for use against this Justice's reelection. :

A judicial oversight panel dismissed a complaint filed in 2021 against liberal-leaning Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Jill Karofsky over comments she made during oral arguments in Trump’s lawsuit attempting to overturn the results...
Karofsky: “And for you to come forward today and start just using, throwing out allegations of fraud with zero evidence whatsoever. What — What is America?... It is not governance from a king. And what you want, is you want us to overturn this election so that your king can stay in power. And that is so un-American.”
The commission said Karofsky should be more careful about appearing to have chosen a side in legal disputes.
Of course, liberal justices "should be more careful," but...

Karofsky's comments were a supposed violation, but not Justice Bradley's bizarre rant from the bench: This is a classic Bradley "fear of tyranny" moment, questioning the power of the state's health secretary during COVID, a power she was granted...

The GOP Complaint Scheme, Press Falls for it #2: Well, that seemed to work really well. Ready for this?
The state GOP to file a complaint with the Wisconsin Judicial Commission alleging Protasiewicz has violated judicial ethics rules. Conservative opponent Dan Kelly, who has called Protasiewicz an activist who is "a danger to our liberties," has prompted the state GOP to file a complaint with the Wisconsin Judicial Commission, alleging Protasiewicz has violated judicial ethics rules.

Milwaukee County Judge Janet Protasiewicz (conveyed) her belief that women should be able to choose whether to continue pregnancies and has characterized the state's Republican-written legislative maps as "rigged"
Nothing "literal" about Federalist doctrine of “originalism”: "Besides, Wisconsin has had a conservative majority for some time, why change," said Jennifer Darow? Justice candidate Darow went further, and openly said she will be submissive to Republicans laws, since they are the gerrymandered "voice of the people." Thank WISN report Matt Smith for follow-up questions:

Darow will protect us from a liberal push that will transform Wisconsin, in not a good way. Did we hear that right?

BREAKING: Dan Kelly not an "activist." Was he completely impartial the last two years working for Republicans? JSonline:

Former state Republican Party Chairman Andrew Hitt said in a deposition last year to the U.S. House committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol that he and Kelly had "pretty extensive conversations" about the fake elector scheme. Kelly was serving as the party's "special counsel" at the time.
Abortion Ban is now Constitutional, and candidate Dan Kelly says he will follow the Constitution. That's crystal clear:

Dan Kelly on Justice Hagedorn's slightly less predictable MAGA vote, noting a predictable justice is a good justice. Shaping a decision around a predetermined outcome: "We're just a little surprised at how he turned out." "We didn't have anything like a record we could point to...and that became a problem...he didn't mean the same things we mean...!

Kelly continues to inadvertently tell us how he'll vote...on public health policy (not laws):
In that case, Secretary-designee of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services Andrea Palm approved the state’s “safer at home” policy, under her department’s statutory authority to “promulgate and enforce rules or issue orders for guarding against the introduction of any communicable disease into the state.” Republicans in the Wisconsin State Legislature sued to block the order, and the Supreme Court’s four remaining conservatives agreed.

Here’s how Kelly, at Tuesday’s event, described what happened: “The Secretary of Human Services says, ‘You can’t go to work unless I tell you. You can’t take your children to school unless I tell you. You can’t go to church unless I tell you to. You can’t do anything unless I tell you to.’ ” Kelly said Palm “came into her Madison office [and typed up the stay-at-home order]. When she was done, she held that up and said, ‘Behold, my law that I just made up today. Legislators have never seen this. They never voted on it, but I made it.’ ”

Palm did not hold up the order and say this.

Can Democrats Ban Conservative "Woke" Curriculum? They should be able to.

WOKE!?

Bottom Line, Bans on Wokeness is Government Censorship: Does the 1st Amendment make an exception to allow government censorship of "woke" ideas, or government censorship of ideas that make some people feel uncomfortable? Didn't think so.

The frustrating part of the anti-wokeness movement is the lack of legal challenges mentioned in the media. Can we assume there are any? A legal challenge to what is obviously government censorship of ideas, language, and books seems like it would be a slam dunk win in court, even in a radically activist Supreme Court. Can it be more obvious...

So even if there are current challenges to government censorship in schools, even if we're not hearing about them, I've got a sure-fire way to win this case and get the word out:
Democratic districts should propose banning conservative "wokeness," schools that push right wing indoctrination that whitewashes history, teaches white Western European culture, attacks students based on race, sex and preferred pronouns, orders schools to report these students to their parents, etc.
It's a two-way street folks, and the Supreme Court would be forced to show their true colors, would they dare support one but not the other? Nope.

The right-wing media machine would hit critical mass immediately, spreading the "debate" like wild fire across all media outlets. If government can ban supposed "woke" liberal ideas, it could certainly ban "woke" conservative ideas.

Still, like snowball rolling down hill, the Government Overreach Party (GOP) are getting more insane...

...and this. According to many parents, these students just aren't ready for this:

Students told WBMA-TV they were ordered to leave out major historical moments, including slavery and the civil rights movement, from the program scheduled for Feb. 22 at Hillcrest High School in Tuscaloosa.

The students were told they “couldn’t talk about slavery and civil rights because one of our administrators felt uncomfortable,” said Black History Month Program board member J’Niyah Suttles, a senior who participated in Wednesday's walkout. Tuscaloosa County Superintendent Dr. Keri Johnson, in a statement, denied allegations that an administrator told the students to leave out historical elements.

This just in...again, students just aren't ready for this:

Republican Senator Daniel Emrich, who is the bill’s sponsor, said the bill will make sure students are taught facts.
“If we operate on the assumption that a theory is fact, unfortunately, it leads us to asking questions that may be potentially based on false assumptions,” Emrich said.
Finally, Democrats should take a big hint from conservative David Jolly, who's talked about this idea before; insecure parenting...

Children on Front Line as DeSantis uses them for Nationwide Culture War on Education!

The last few days were exhausting perusing Twitter. Was it possible our world was devolving into...Bizarro World, or perhaps...

Bizarro MAGA Social Engineering: The frightening thing? MAGAs culture war has infect everything. If Wisconsin didn't have a Democratic governor, Vos Republicans would be doing the same scary nonsense. What started as a don't say gay law has expanded to mean everything and anything:

Of course, MAGAs insist in tweets that this is a liberal lie...

...really?
Even worse...

Parents Bill of Rights? Sounds great huh? My own interaction with my son's teachers provided a shocking revelation; the teachers were smarter than me and creative, and my guys were learning important things that I was completely unaware of. So how do parents know what's best, especially when they going by their own very dated experience in school? To this day, my kids are still a wealth of information.

The bottom line is this; MAGAs have very low expectations of their own kid's mental awareness and development, undermining what they're capable of doing.

Ridiculous "Students aren't Ready Yet:" From the Bulwark, Margaret McMullan destroyed the idea that students aren't ready for those frightening "woke" knowledgeable ideas:
I wish the book banners and the anti-CRT folk could read these student essays and see for themselves how young people process, understand, and, often, overcome life’s traumas and injustices.

Here were younger students (7th-12th grade) wrestling with major depression. They were frustrated with the mindlessness of virtual learning. Many had no one to talk to. They wrote about domestic abuse, reconsidering one’s gender, dealing with an unwanted pregnancy, figuring out reasons to live, being deported as a new immigrant, racism, and coming out to their parents. They also wrote about getting COVID and surviving a shooting. These students were grappling with life’s biggest challenges, often involving life or death.

A volunteer mother told me she lived through a historical moment and regretted her actions. That regret changed her, and she volunteered to host me and other authors to visit schools to teach students about civil rights. This woman’s shame and regret is exactly what Republicans want to avoid in classrooms across the nation.

And to the owners of private school and MAGA Republican supporters sending taxpayer dollars to support choice schools, well, heed these words by DeSantis about future STATE control over education if they don't like what you're teaching...:

"If it was a private school, making those choices, that’s fine, I mean, what are you going to do,” DeSantis' said. “But this is paid for by your tax dollars.”

What is CRT now? Does it teach children white skin is not equal to black skin and other things?

DeSantis trashes Academic Freedom

...and how about this direct threat to the press...

Republicans blocked Democratic agenda for 12 years in Wisconsin, so who will they blame?

There are consequences to one party rule, especially by what are now MAGA Republicans, and we're about to feel it for what could be a generation.  Despite 12 years where they had control, isn't it odd to hear Vos Republicans blame Gov. Evers for pushing his "woke" agenda, as if that's what's holding Wisconsin back.

Surrounded by Democratically run Minnesota, Illinois, and Michigan: Wisconsin will have a difficult time growing its economy and still attract young demanding job seekers. This is an urgent problem; out migration is growing, young people are leaving, Wisconsin is graying, seniors are retiring, and the slow rollout of broadband depleted rural communities and businesses.

Recently, Democratic strategist Joe Zepecki laid out the obvious end result on UpNorthNews Radio with Pat Kreitlow.

This is only a partial list.

1. Wisconsin is one of 11 states that didn't expand Medicaid, a health care safety net for family that fall on hard times.

2. No paid sick leave, banned by gerrymandered Republicans statewide.

3. Perpetually underfunded schools and universities.

3. A 1849 ban on abortion, dramatically affecting all reproductive rights for women.

4. No medicinal or safe government controlled recreational marijuana.

Heck, Evers finally got to fixd our crumbling roads and bridges after 8 years of Scott Walker. And now, after waiting another 4 years, Vos Republicans are now thinking cancer causing PFAS in our water, any amount, could be bad for attracting people to the state.

Is it any wonder voters reelected Gov. Evers to screen out statewide vouchers, anti-LGBTQ policies in schools and "woke" black history courses, probably a flat tax that really benefits the wealthiest freeloaders, voter suppression efforts...etc.

Here's audio of Joe Zepecki's warning of what MAGA Legislators will do to the economy now and for future generations if they get away with it...

And if other state f**k up, well....

Yahoo News: Youngkin comment in his annual state address on January 11. “I’ve said before that I want ‘Made in America’ to mean ‘Made in Virginia.’ But let me be clear, ‘Made in Virginia’ cannot be a front for the Chinese Communist Party,” Youngkin said during the address. Later, Youngkin told reporters that the Biden administration has a “maniacal focus on getting rid of all fossil fuel generation, replacing it with solar, wind, or replacing every car immediately with batteries” when “the reality is that the technology that in fact drives all that is owned and dominated by the Chinese.”

Youngkin elaborated on his comments in an interview with Bloomberg TV on Friday, when he referred to the Ford-CATL partnership as “a Trojan-horse relationship.”

“This is not a zero-sum game and I would have loved to have Ford come to Virginia and build a battery plant, if they were not using it as a front for a company that’s controlled by the Chinese Communist Party,” he said.

Youngkin’s actions don’t come in a vacuum; in fact, they may signal a coming wave of similar Republican attitude. As Axios reporter Jael Holzman outlined on Twitter last week, Republicans have begun raising concerns about Chinese control as a way to stymie or stall green energy developments. Politicians, including Sen. Marco Rubio and Tennessee Rep. Mark Green, have recently expressed concerns about a Texas-based battery company with some Chinese operations that got a Department of Energy grant, while the GOP is reportedly looking into other clean energy firms for Chinese connections, according to Holzman.

Vos Republicans take credit for COVID created massive state Surplus.

Despite collecting huge revenues from the state's largest city, Milwaukee, WI MAGA Republicans continue their 11-year effort to starve that Democratic city.

Milwaukee area officials have long argued that, as the state's largest economic engine, it sends more revenue to the state than it receives back.

But 11-years wasn't penalty enough, apparently.

Oh, and Rep. Robin Vos made it so any changes would be "politically unpopular" decisions, which can only strengthen the Republican narrative:
"Show me some examples where you are willing to do things that are politically unpopular because they're the right answer," Vos said.

Scott Walker pushed this same plan as Milwaukee County Executive, before he became governor, bringing the county to the edge of bankruptcy. The Greater Milwaukee Committee report putting Walker's bad management front and center was withheld so, get this, it wouldn't influence Walker's run for governor? True:

jsonline-Daniel Bice: Milwaukee County government is in such dire financial shape that state lawmakers should push through legislation that would allow it and other local governments to file for bankruptcy …

"We don't want this to become some sort of political football during the fall election campaigns." Mayor Barrett called on the committee to release the full report before the election, saying it could give a glimpse of what awaits the state if Walker becomes governor.

And nothing has changed in the last 11 years.

Republicans take credit for Democratic COVID Funding they Opposed, now Brag about Surpluses:  Like the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) money that bailed out the Republican's free market debacle, the Great Recession, Vos Republicans are geared up to use one-time COVID funding to their benefit. Amazingly, Republicans took 10 months off and never dealt with the raging pandemic like any responsible government would have:

A Wisconsin Policy Forum report estimated state and local governments collected at least $19.9 billion in pandemic-related funds.
That helped in a big way...
"The federal government took on unemployment costs, insurance spending, that otherwise the state might have felt the need to help out with," Stein said. "The federal government helped, to an unbelievable degree, on both the revenue side in terms of stimulating the economy and on the cost side with lowering existing costs and keeping the state from having to spend money."

Like ARRA, when One Time COVID Relief Funding runs out, what could happen?

Jason Stein, research director at the Wisconsin Policy Forum, noted that without the federal covid funds, the state could have been facing the same fiscal cliff it was during the 2008-09 biennial budget process, when then-Gov. Jim Doyle had an estimated budget gap of $5.4 billion.

"During the height of the Great Recession from 2009 through 2011, Wisconsin made heavy use of federal ARRA funds, particularly for K-12 school aid and Medicaid," Stein said in a policy forum paper. "When those funds ran out, the state faced a difficult 2011-13 budget and ultimately cut state aid to schools and local governments substantially."
Here we go again? There will be a possible surplus...about $2 billion.
Besides the federal stimulus money, Wisconsin is projecting state tax revenue increases in fiscal 2022-23 based on current state and federal tax laws: $744.2 million in state tax revenue increases in fiscal year 2022-23. That's a 3.6% increase over the previous fiscal year, for a total revenue estimate of $21.293 billion.

$323.9 million in state tax revenue increase in fiscal year 2023-24; a 1.5% increase for a total revenue estimate of $21.617 billion.

$855.1 million in state tax revenue increase in fiscal year 2024-25; a 4% increase for a total revenue estimate of $22.472 billion.

MAGA Weekly: Bible trashes Liberals! What's next for MAGAs, ordering hits? Blood Drinking Left.

Van Orden says it's a Bible principle, Leftists hate this Country: Tavern touring Derrick Van Orden is out there talking to the people and farmers but doesn't seem to be aware of their biggest concerns. Any solutions? Odd huh?

The Bible tells us so...MAGA not a Religious Cult? Trump is our divine intervention...

MAGA Death Squads Quietly being Recruited: What do Guns have to do with Firing Pelosi? It's not that Rep. Ween is definitely suggesting shooting a member of Congress, but he says he can do that because a lone gunman attacked Rep. Steve Scalise.

MAGAs pushing Punishment of Death: Imagine this message a year from now? Nancy Pelosi committed treason for holding office for so long? Don't tell Chuck Grassley:

Liberal Elites Drink Childrens Blood: Watching the amazing mental decline of conspiracy nut Lara Logan has been almost surreal. But with messaging like this, added to MAGA gun election ads suggesting there are other ways to "win" an election, can't wait the dystopian 2024 dueling challenges:

Political Leaders deciding Women's health: Dr. Oz made it very clear women's issues, including health, are sadly up to men now:

Michael Flynn never would have allowed that COVID nonsense: I've said over and over, for MAGAs, COVID wasn't real or a reason for inflation. It was a liberal global plot:

Under MAGAs, Uncle Sam relegated to cheap side-show Trump entertainment: How far he has fallen...

MAGA Weekly: Lazy Covid Checks, Trump Capitol Riot, FBI Setup, Climate denial, Crime and Violence in Red States, etc.

1. Michels: "COVID checks...that's how they got Lazy!" Like getting economic help during a pandemic was the worst we can do. MAGAs won't spend money on us, it's wrong?

2. Michels: "I haven't seen any evidence, Donald Trump said "Go to the Capitol now and storm it..." Okay, maybe not those exact words but...Michels: "making Donald Trump look bad with all these hearings..." is pretty ridiculous.

3. Ron Johnson set up by FBI (don't laugh, he means it): The crowd at the debate should have been the MAGA reaction, but wasn't:

4. "Why has he turned against America" nothing like hating America now and promising to Make America Great Again?

5. Michels: "A lot of discussion about that..." The West is drying up, Hurricanes wiping out sections of states, yup, no problem.

6. MAGA somehow rationalizes voting for "shitty candidates." Wow, smart argument:

7. Crime and Violence NOT Dems, but MAGA Republicans after all: We've seen the charts...Now you can hear the data...

8. Fighting MAGA War on Women's Rights Fading? They think so, but it's only getting worse...

...so then this happens...body shaming:

MAGA Weekly: Christian Nation-Replacement Theory-Trump aids Putin War-Good-bye Social Security for real-Saudi Oil Price Hike Oct Surprise!

What does it really mean to be a "Christian nation?" It allows MAGA Republicans to argue the "government" is getting between you and God.

"Replacing You" at Work? It's surreal how MAGAs completely miss how ridiculous that sounds. Immigrant's may be working side-by-side with everyone else, but how will they find a way to "replace" you? As a friend recently put it, "It can't get more Nazi than this."

Trump + MAGAs hands Putin's Russia Media Talking points: Aiding the enemy? Sure. Video of Trump's comment is the first response after this tweet, check it out:

No, really, Social Security and Medicare about to END: What's most amazing about these threats, is that they're bold enough to do this just before a midterm election:

Biden ad makes this point:

Here's the plan:
Gradually raise the Medicare age of eligibility to 67 and the Social Security eligibility to 70 before indexing both to life expectancy. It backed withholding payments to those who retired early and had earnings over a certain limit. And it endorsed the consideration of options to reduce payroll taxes that fund Social Security and redirect them to private alternatives. It also urged lawmakers to “phase-in an increase in means testing” for Medicare.

The MAGA week...and they want to be in charge?

There are so many stories, and so many important points to make, yet nothing I can say says it better than those who blindly open their traps...

______________________________________________________________________________

________________________________________________________________________________

From "Rigged" elections to an equivalent "Fixed" elections? Again, they're telling us in no uncertain terms what will happen. In other words, the fix is in:

When Justice Thomas targeted Gay Marriage, MAGAs went further: Conservative media is already making this argument, amazingly:

MAGA Racism behind "All lives Matter:" Post racial? To MAGAs, this is what makes America Great:

Ron Johnson's Social Security is "CANDY" statement: What the media won't report is how just one or two words, even a sentence, will be used to reject renewing Social Security, not just MAGA poison pill amendments. Again, SS is a pay-as-you-go program that doesn't use tax dollars. Could anything be more clearly stated by Johnson?

Socialist Hating MAGA Republicans Beg for Socialist Job Creating Money: See, it's this easy...:

Proud Supporters of Trump...going down with that ship: The video tells the story...

Authoritarianism: MAGAs don't have to Anwer Questions: Sen. Cruz' reaction doesn't make MAGA Republicans rethink their vote, because it can only get worse:

The Problem with Jon Stewart...: I wish the media could get as close this line of questioning as possible.

Liberals Directed Hurricane Ian to Hurt Gov. DeSantis: You can't make this stuff up...yet someone did:
