Americans credit Trump for Great Economy? Reality paints entirely different picture!

So far, Trump cultists and former Democratic voters are happy with Trump's great economy, the same economy the media and GOP mislabeled as stagnant. They're still saying it, Fox News Dec. 28, 2019:

Great Recession denier Walker went on to blame the recessions high unemployment numbers on Obama and his predecessor Democratic Gov. Doyle. Yup, the media let him get away with it.

It's time to take a closer look, with facts that completely contradict Trump's ridiculous lies and tweets he repeats constantly at rallies.

1. President Trump's tariffs on imports ultimately led to 62,000 job losses and $7.1 billion in higher prices for consumers and business, a new study from the Federal Reserve has found:

2. Fewer Jobs Created than Obama, so not the best after all: Trump’s job growth falls short of Obama’s last three years

3. Corporate Welfare thanks to Trump Tax Cuts...still like his economy?
379 corporations paid effective fed tax rate of 11.3 percent. In total, 379 corporations enjoyed $73.9 billion dollars in corporate welfare ... ITEP says that 25 of the largest corporations made up half—$37.1 billion—of those pocketed tax dollars.
4. Trump Economy and Tax Cut Never helped "forgotten" Middle Class:

5. Americans happy with Science Free Economic Future: Read below and you'll notice farming, mostly dairy farming, will ironically suffer most: Like journalist Jay Rosen tweeted, this is just one of many issues:
"The refusal to be briefed, the attacks on the intelligence agencies, the put down of the diplomatic corps, the sidelining of science, the rejection of professionalism and expertise across government, the culture war against the press. It's all one thing."
"...relocated two key research agencies to Kansas City from Washington: The National Institute of Food and Agriculture, funds university research on topics like how to breed cattle and corn that can better tolerate drought conditions, and the Economic Research Service, whose economists produce studies for policymakers on farming trends, trade and rural America.

Nearly 600 employees had less than four months to decide whether to uproot and move. Most couldn’t or wouldn’t, and two-thirds of those facing transfer left their jobs.

Mick Mulvaney appeared to celebrate the departures. “It’s nearly impossible to fire a federal worker,” he said in videotaped remarks. “But by simply saying to people, ‘You know what, we’re going to take you outside the bubble, outside the Beltway, outside this liberal haven of Washington, D.C., and move you out in the real part of the country,’ and they quit. What a wonderful way to sort of streamline government..."

At the Economic Research Service, dozens of planned studies into topics like dairy industry consolidation and pesticide use have been delayed or disrupted.
6. Like Paul Ryan, Trump knows more than the Pope and is a better "Christian:"

6. Trump wasted "Best economy Ever" and never invested in Future
The nation wasted the major economic recovery, according to a new report by Harvard Business School on U.S. competitiveness.
“We had this wonderful recovery. It could have given us the chance to take some significant resources and devote them to some of our well-known challenges, like infrastructure or health care...none of that happened. Instead, we squandered a major economic recovery and didn’t use it to make things better,” said Harvard Business School professor Michael Porter, a co-author of the study.

The overwhelming majority of business leaders surveyed in the report said lobbying primarily advanced company interests, sometimes at the expense of the public interest. More than half (56%) of the general public agreed. Corporations spent an estimated $2.8 billion on federal elections in 2018, according to OpenSecrets; 71% of business leaders surveyed in the report believe the overall business community’s election spending distorted the democratic process, while 60% of the public agreed, according to HBS.

“Employees are getting dragged into this game,” he said, adding: “We don’t see that as democratic principles. We think that’s not democracy where your employer is telling you how to vote and telling you where to give money.”

While unemployment is at a record low and stocks are at record highs, wealth inequality persists. In fact, 65% of HBS alumni ages 18-44 said the U.S. should use the tax system to undertake more redistribution toward lower-income individuals.

“There’s lots of areas where the narrative isn’t exactly right,” Porter said. “For example, we have a lot of people employed, but there’s a lot of data that shows that the people employed are often not getting a living wage, or they’re not being paid for their qualifications. A lot of college graduates in jobs that don’t really compensate them for what they know.”

Porter said the real unemployment rate is closer to 10%

The Truth about the Trump Economy, and Women Trump Voters think he knows what he's doing.

Republican and Democratic voters bought into the idea that Trump the million-billionaire must know what he's doing economically as president. Even weirder, these independent "we don't need government" loudmouths are expecting Trump to help them out with big government handouts, like those deficit-increasing tax cuts they can now spend on higher priced goods thanks to sky-high tariffs. It's crazy, right?

Borrowing more Money for Tax Cuts? Yes: From NPR's Marketplace, this eye-opener about our rising trade deficits, borrowing from other countries to pay for tax cuts...Trumps smoke and mirrors. NPR Audio:

Wage Stagnation...again: Sure wages are going up, but only for certain industries and in states raising their minimum wage, but manufacturing is taking a hit. Business just isn't competing with wages. NPR Audio:

Trump Voters Think He's an Economic Genius (below): The guest group of women Trump voters on CNN below basically thought Trump was real change, and a billionaire that felt their pain (really?). Everything else in the media about Trump is just noise (how much he lies, women, Russia, uncertainty, the environment). He's made the economy roar, and nothing else matters. Warning: This clip will make you sick:

He's a genius if you like massive debt and absolutely no investment in our country. I posted this story a few days ago:

Democratic Counties big on Jobs and Business, Trump Counties big on keeping their guns.

It's crazy, isn't it? If it wasn't for the Obama economy, steady jobs and business growth, Republicans would have nothing to brag about? Wisconsin's Democratic cities and counties have been propping Scott Walker up for years, and the Dems here have been letting him get away with. The right-wing "mainstream media" machine keeps trying to spin history...but it just sounds crazy, like this from the Washington Times

Loyal panting Trump voters love to keep waiting for the new tariff uncertain economy to improve, eventually reaping big dividends for farmers while paying higher prices for everything. In the meantime, they're losing jobs and income based on a few empty promises from their grifting President. Thank god they'll always have their guns:

WaPo: On average for the year-ended this May, 58.5 percent of the job gains were in counties that backed Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016, according to an Associated Press analysis of monthly government jobs data by county.

Despite an otherwise robust national economy, the analysis shows that a striking number of Trump counties are losing jobs. The AP found that 35.4 percent of Trump counties have shed jobs in the past year, compared with just 19.2 percent of Clinton counties.

The jobs data shows an economy that is as fractured as the political landscape ahead of the 2018 midterm elections. As more money pools in such corporate hubs as Houston, San Francisco or Seattle, prosperity spills over less and less to smaller towns and cities in America’s interior. That would seem to undercut what Trump sees as a central accomplishment of his administration — job creation for middle class and blue-collar workers in towns far removed from glitzy urban centers.

For Trump’s core supporters, cultural issues such as gun rights, immigration and loyalty to the president have become dominant priorities.

Chip Kohser, the county Republican chairman and the bristle-bearded founder of a farm share company, said his party members are rallying around their staunch opposition to gun control. “Our No. 1 motivating factor,” he said, “is Second Amendment issues.” Democratic calls for stricter gun control in the aftermath of mass shootings, he said, are fueling more zeal among his Republican volunteers than are the $1.5 trillion in tax cuts that Trump signed into law last year.

Trump Economic all time highs...BS!

Like Scott Walker, Trump likes to brag endlessly (I wish Obama had done this) about how certain parts of the economy are growing. Trump's numbers are just a continuation of growth that started under Obama, nothing more and nothing less.

But when I saw this...well, I had to set the record straight.

What's missed in all this are the massive jobs losses and business closings.

Donald Trump has presided over massive job losses due to outsourcing and plant closings, despite promising to keep jobs stateside, after years of job growth under President Obama: Donald Trump has presided over job growth (that) has dropped to a six-year low. Since January of this year, 243,108 employees have received notices of plant closings and layoffs.

-12,241 notices about plant closing and layoffs were handed out in Florida. 10,396 workers got the bad news in Ohio. 6,564 notices went out in Michigan.

-In Indiana, 8,313 Americans received the bad news from their employers about losing their positions. Many of those people were employees at Carrier, where Trump made grandiose promises about keeping jobs slated to be outsourced in America ... jobs being sent overseas have reached the highest rate in five years.

-At the same time, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics revealed that job growth is down. America experienced job growth of 250,000 per month in 2014, 226,000 per month in 2015, and 187,000 per month in 2016 — but that measure is down to 163,000 a month under Trump.

Velshi's War against Trump's dissemination of Fake News Talking Points.

MSNBC's Ali Velshi is doing what every other cable news host should be doing...offering on the spot critical analysis, correcting any fake news propaganda as it's being spewed out.

For example, the clip that's burning up the twitter-sphere right now is Velshi's take down of Trump adviser Brad Thomas ballyhooing the impact Trump has had on jobs and the markets. Not so, says Ali....here's one comment that sums it up:
Velshi and Stephanie are exactly how front desk journalism should be. Give no quarter. Call out lies/stretched truths as they come out of these mouth pieces.

Ali Velshi did the same thing with Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, who claimed "ObamaCare" was collapsing. Jordan insisted it wasn't because of the GOP's promise to repeal it or cut funding, which was just not true. Note: CBO did say premiums increases would come down, but that's because the sick would no longer be in the insurance market...what a plan?

Trump's first quarter economic Slump, horrific March jobs numbers. Tired of winning like this yet?

Funny thing, my conservative friend in Milwaukee still hasn't texted me about the quarterly growth numbers, or a belated hoorah about last months lackluster job growth numbers. He was quick to do that about the January and February jobs numbers though. "We won, get over it," right?

But Trump supporters do this all the time. They can't wait to rub it in our faces, anything and everything that happens under Trump, their president.

Back at you...it's the slowest quarterly growth in 3 years.

■ The economy barely grew, expanding at an annual rate of only 0.7 percent. The first-quarter performance upset expectations for a Trump bump at the start of 2017.
■ The growth was a sharp decline from the 2.1 percent annual rate recorded in the final quarter of last year. It was the weakest quarterly showing in three years.

■ Consumption, the component reflecting individual spending, rose by only 0.3 percent, well below the 3.5 percent rate in the previous quarter.
My conservative friend in Milwaukee bragged over a month ago about the incredible job numbers in January and February, numbers actually created under President Obama, that foreign, inexperienced racist black guy. Well the numbers in March were quietly received..

Looking for a Trump bump in the economy? Keep waiting. After two months of stellar job creation that convinced administration officials that President Trump’s policies were paying off immediately, employers pulled back sharply on hiring in March.
1. The economy added 98,000 jobs, the Labor Department reported Friday, fewer than half the monthly number for January and February.

2. The disappointing number of new jobs was jarring for the administration...
...who tried to ride the Obama coat tails just a little bit longer. Disappointing, very disappointing, very bad. Sad.
