Slipping closer to an Idiocracy, Illinois Republican Primary Winner Amazes.

Frequently I like to feature comments from the regressive right's candidates and/or lawmakers trying to convince us they should make all of the decisions for us. They want to "lead."

Nothing more insane than this recent primary winner. And like you, I'm seeing a real world "Idiocracy" playing out before my eyes. It really is possible. People liked her...message?


According to the Daily Kos:

Craziest person in Illinois wins Republican primary: "I am a conservative Republican and I believe in God first," Illinois congressional candidate Susanne Atanus said. She said she believes God controls the weather and has put tornadoes and diseases such as autism and dementia on earth as punishment for gay rights and legalized abortions.

"God is angry. We are provoking him with abortions and same-sex marriage and civil unions," she said. "Same-sex activity is going to increase AIDS. If it's in our military it will weaken our military. We need to respect God."

Atanus just won her primary. Back when she was saying those things even other Republicans were calling on her to withdraw from the race. Meet the new official, not-kidding Republican challenger to Rep. Jan Schakowsky.

FreakoutNation: Congressman Jim Bridenstine (R-OK) attended a breakfast event with the Tea Party organization Tulsa 9:12 Project last week, a woman said, “Obama, he’s not President, as far as I’m concerned, he should be executed as an enemy combatant,” then went on to ask the congressman about “the Muslims that he is shipping into our country through pilots and commercial jets.”

She said, “This guy is a criminal and nobody’s stopped him.”

Right Wing Watch notes, Bridenstine didn’t respond to her call for the president’s execution, but agreed that Obama is “lawless” and said he rules “by decree” and through the United Nations.

They're nothing without their party identity.

Proving once again that many tea party conservatives are defined entirely by their party. That's why if you question their policies, they believe it's a personal attack. "Name calling?" Don't think so.

Expected: Larry Klayman predicted that his rally calling for the overthrow of President Obama would draw “millions to occupy Washington D.C.” and that those millions would “occupy parks, sidewalks, public areas” until the president leaves office. 

In the end, no more than a hundred people showed up for today’s big event. Nevertheless, Klayman told Tea Party activists that he is still confident that the Reclaim American Now rally will force the president to resign and that grateful Americans will beseech Klayman and his allies to organize a new Continental Congress in Philadelphia.

Remember when peaceful families, concerned citizens and labor unions protested Scott Walker's radical agenda at the Capitol? Conservative "Stand with Walker" teatards spread rumors about vandalism and violence at the Capitol...that never happened.

Now look at the tea party protesters in D.C.. Explain this one Vicki McKenna, Charlie Sykes, and Mark Behling? Didn't think so.

jsonline: In a sign of the conservative discontent, 11 Assembly Republicans sent a letter Thursday to their leaders saying they wouldn't vote for the budget as written. They want the bill to cut income taxes by a greater amount, reduce bonding by $500 million and remove a provision that would require people to provide their DNA when they are arrested for felonies (this one I agree with), rather than when they are convicted. There are 60 Republicans in the 99-member Assembly. If all 11 withheld their votes, that would leave Republicans with at most 49 votes for the budget — short of a majority. 

Tea Party Running State, want to Dump Common Core Standards for Schools for Paranoid Political Reasons.

While teabillies have a hissy fit after getting caught gaming the system with an avalanche of applications for tax exempt status, they’re having a major influence on sending Wisconsin into educational death spiral.

We’re talking about the Common Core Standard. The world has adopted these standards and their students are beating U.S. students. Common Core is said by tea party dummies to be a European threat meant to dumb down America, to make it less competitive. I know more paranoid insanity. The irreversible stupidity being committed by our Republicans partisan legislators will make other states the winners. Why the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel used the word “academic” instead of “core” in this story is a mystery to me, unless they intentionally tried to mask the underhanded lunacy being passed by the legislature:

The state would be able to keep the math and reading standards it has already implemented under the proposal adopted Wednesday. How do I know pressure from the low information tea party losers resulted in the changes?

The actions contradict how some of the same lawmakers voted in budget deliberations two years ago — a point they acknowledged Wednesday. "What we're doing is putting the pause on Common Core," said Rep. Dean Knudson (R-Hudson), who proposed the idea. The measure passed 13-3.

Here’s the kicker, Democrat Rep. Cory Mason betrayed the party agenda of advancing public education instead of sending it back into the stone age. Democrats are so weak:

Northwoods Patriots just found out about Common Core, say tougher standards Bad for education! Smarter kids may also cut down on their membership.

Teabilly’s are up in arms over the quick implementation of the Common Core Standards that had been in the planning stages for years, and implemented nationwide over the last three years.

Catching up as usual, the slow low information tea party voter only heard of Common Core after extremist former congressman and now Republican Gov. Mike Pence blocked implementation in Indiana.

Common Core is nothing new and has been in place world wide for years. The U.S. has seen their success rates and have adopted many of the more successful standards. Tea Party dunderheads assume it’s a curriculum, which it is not. They are…”Standards,” it’s right in the name.

WKOW-Greg Neumann: Opponents of new national education standards are hoping to put a stop to them here in Wisconsin, but public school officials say that would be a big mistake. Since 2010, Wisconsin public schools have been working to meet Common Core Standards.  Those are nationwide achievement goals the National Governor's Association established and that 45 states have now adopted.  "They're skill based standards. It’s what kids will be able to demonstrate and how they will be able to apply their knowledge versus just knowing.  That's a pretty big difference," said West Bend Superintendent Ted Neitzke, one of a handful of people invited to speak to the Joint Education Committee.

And wouldn't you know it, Teabillies don’t like the idea of tougher educational standards:

Neitzke says Common Core Standards are much tougher than what Wisconsin had previously. 

Understandably, Wisconsin’s own Northwoods Patriots are having a hard time grasping even the underlying concept of Common Core, not to mention its success rate in countries that are testing much higher than the U.S.. And since it's new, it’s also a work in progress.

But the Northwoods Patriots just noticed something started way back in 2010:

But a group donning T-shirts that read "Stop Common Core" is challenging that idea. "In January when we came to ask 'please can you explain to us what's going on with Common Core Standards?'

I don't often bring up appearances, but just check out the blank look in the CCS opponents face (Kim Simac), and her embarrassingly uninformed observation. She ran unsuccessfully for our state senate:

"In my mind it’s a prototype that was put together and sent out there and we've adopted it without even having anything to go on to prove that it’s going to help our children to excel," said Simac, a member of the Northwoods Patriots tea party group. "This is an old issue for us, we're already mapping into other things," said Neitzke.  "And then to stop the momentum that's been behind it in the State of Wisconsin would be pretty difficult." 

Green Bay Tea Party Protesters Fired their Rifles into Stacks of Paper, angry over IRS targeting.

There's a very good reason why we call tea party members "teatards" or "teabillies." The following recent protest over the IRS's targeting of crooked tea party groups lying to get tax exempt status in Green Bay is exhibit A.

Teabillies aimed their rifles at stacks of paper representing the tax code. I'm utterly speechless. This was a good idea? One teatard whined about the complicated tax code, which by the way was created by big business seeking every loophole possible, all the while wearing a US Bank hat. Maybe he didn't understand what caused the Great Recession? Breathtakingly bizarre and mind numbing, these sheeple will continue to parrot their big donor talking points, oblivious to the world around them.

TeaTards oppose Common Core Standards, Oppose the Tough Public School Standards they Pushed the last decade.

American schools will join the rest of the world’s move toward Common Core Standards, a simple way to achieve a competitive level of education. But teabilly low information voters don’t like it one bit.

So a statewide coalition of tea parties have petitioned the state Republicans to defund Common Core.

Here’s just a mind numbing sample of their drooling incompetence. They actually oppose  all the troublesome technology, training and text books our kids will be exposed to.

WheelerReport: Wisconsin’s embrace of Common Core State Standards (CCSS), which many of you have blessed, is leading us off a cliff. Local taxpayers like us will have to foot the yet untold bill for CCSS – including but not limited to major technology initiatives, additional administrative staff, training, and textbook compliance. Our children will be subjected to CCSS and will have to live with whatever outcomes it yields. But CCSS will be entirely out of our hands. That’s taxation without representation, against which each of you has a sworn fiduciary duty to protect your constituents.

Yes, Common Core is unconstitutional. Surprised? I especially love the following argument that really says more about private voucher schools than a nationwide public school standard:

CCSS, then, makes children guinea pigs for unproven educational theories and approaches. These are arbitrary standards, not higher standards.

These guys are stupid. Tea party dunderheads apparently haven’t been paying attention to the Republican attacks on the UW, because they want just the opposite:

The new standards will now prepare children only for technical school, not for a four year college or university. Shouldn't Republican officials be raising their eyebrow and asking why?

Even more outrageous? Teabillies hate the very standards they and their Republican comrades have zealously forced on public education with NCLB. It’s jaw dropping hypocrisy:   

CCSS encourages us to believe that a strict regimen of standardized testing, along with loads of new textbooks and technology, will result in smarter kids. Standardization and standardized testing do not equate to higher standards. Nor do laptops, tablets, prescribed textbooks and software, or endless standardized testing equate to enhanced performance. No hard evidence supports either presumption. In fact, endless standardized testing may well result in children who will take tests – and orders – on command but can’t think for themselves.

In case you haven't noticed, these bullies are acting outright scary:

We will not rest until CCSS is repealed in this state. We are watching. We are not alone. Our numbers are growing.

Conservatives continue to make ridiculous Nazi references directed at liberals and Democrats, even though they always appear surprised and outraged at similar and more deserving characterizations. I found this at the "Working Class Conservative" website:
