Republican Scheme: Outsource Jobs, Lower Wages in Manufacturing, Create a Slow Recovery to bash Democrats in Election.

Amazing, Scott Walker's approval rating actually went up in the latest Marquette Poll, even after the bad news about jobs came out in Wisconsin.  

Walker Outsources Work: He's not stopping the jobs from leaving, that's for sure. It looks like his CEO friend forgot to mention their plans to outsource: 

Citizen Action of Wisconsin: Data kept by the U.S. Department of Labor shows that at least 11,331 Wisconsin workers have had their jobs outsourced to other countries the last five years since Governor Walker’s scandal ridden jobs agency, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), was launched July 1, 2011. This is a very low end estimate … It does not account for outsourcing to other states, or downsizing where it is not possible to prove the jobs landed in a foreign country or were impacted by global trade deals.

Walker is hoping for a Renaissance of Manufacturing with ACT 10 and right-to-work supply of Low Wage Workers: No, Democrats weren't just making this stuff up. In fact, here's Trump from 2011 on lowering wages with RTW:

Wisconsin Manufacturing Wages Declining: Citizen Action of Wisconsin looked at thelatest federal data, and found a startling decline in manufacturing wages in every Wisconsin metro area. 

Real wages (adjusted for inflation) are going down for manufacturing workers in every Wisconsin metro area. On average, annual wages declined $1,430 between 2010 and 2015 - Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Robert Kraig, Executive Director of Citizen Action of Wisconsin: “Declining wages damage small business because workers have less to spend at the local grocery store, supper club, coffee shop, and dry cleaner. The result is less employment, and a further drag on local economies.” 

This data also directly challenges Governor Walker’s constant assertion that a co-called “skills gap” is the cause of Wisconsin’s economic woes. If manufacturers were really having problems finding skilled manufacturing workers, they would be raising wages, not lowering them.

The state also lead the way in the largest drop in the middle class of all states. 

Walker Blames Obama for Slow National Economic Recovery? But can't because sabotaging the recovery was the Republican plan all along. Now voters are mad, shouting for Trump. As you can see, past presidents spent a lot more and experienced big recoveries:

A little-noticed report from the Economic Policy Institute earlier this month should have been national news … The recovery since 2009 has been historically slow, and the disappointing pace can be explained entirely by the fiscal austerity imposed by Republicans in Congress.

“Had government spending during Obama’s tenure behaved the same way it did during Reagan’s, government spending would currently be roughly one trillion dollars higher than it is,” The Week‘s Jeff Spross explained.

Since the Stimulus ended, the kind of good jobs that come from construction or public investment and are readily available to Americans who don’t have college degrees have dried up — purposely. They’ve done it to increase economic anxiety, which they know will increase resentment of all sorts, including the racial resentment that has driven much of the resistance to Obama.

The "Jobs and the Economy" Tuesday night convention topic was missing, replaced with "Hillary for Prison." Twitter helped explain that phenomenon:

While Gov. Mike Pence brags about his states 4.7% unemployment rate, he wants you to think Indiana's economy is separate from anything President Obama's has done. The same goes for Scott Walker:

And many factors -- Congress, the economy and Obama himself, but to almost no extent Clinton -- played a role in the debt increases during Obama’s tenure.

Republicans have been relentless trashing the U.S. economy, trying in every way to delegitimize Obama. If you believed the GOP presidential front runners, the country was on the verge of collapse.

This was all by design:

Secret meetings led by House GOP whip Eric Cantor (in December 2008) and Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (in early January 2009) in which they laid out their daring (though cynical and political) no-honeymoon strategy of all-out resistance to a popular President-elect during an economic emergency. “If he was for it,” former Ohio Senator George Voinovich explained, “we had to be against it.”

Republicans have made it their business to obstruct everything he does. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said it best in 2012: “Our top political priority over the next two years should be to deny President Obama a second term.”

This PolitiFact finding makes it seem like the country is headed in the wrong direction too, based on the GOP's campaign of deception to the American public for the last 7 years:

How could the public feel otherwise, hearing lie after lie on conservative talk media and countless fact free Republican presidential debates. Heck, they even said in public how they planned to delegitimize Obama. Except for "cut to lobbyist," the cliche ridden list of fear based fiction below has been successfully sold to the public, according to the poll Ryan is referencing:

Reality looks completely different. PolitiFact had a responsibility of making note of was how wrong public perception is, and that Ryan's use of the poll number obscures the truth. Many of the numbers have gotten better since I screen captured these. 

Even with all the obstruction, does this look like American is on the wrong path?

  

Ditka: "Obama is the worst president we've ever had." Really?

If they didn't make Obama's presidency sound like a major disaster, Republicans would have nothing to build their fantasy world agenda around. Unfortunately for them, they've had to construct an elaborate lie about Obama's record to present their side of the argument, to make it look good.

Who better than former Bears coach Mike Ditka to sum up their disconnect with reality:

Once upon a time, higher taxes were an incentive for businesses to reinvest some of their profits, and lower their tax burden. That's why we saw growth in the 50's and 60's. Businesses then increased wages, which increased demand, which prompted job growth: 

But after 40 years of Reagan economics, no one remembers what made the U.S. an economic super power.

Scott Walker seemed so...un-world leader like. It's small insecure men like Scott Walker who wait until someones back is turned before they gather up enough courage to stab a person in back with petty verbal attacks and outright lies.

Gov. Scott Walker warmly welcomed him with applause, a friendly smile and some laughing banter. Walker spent the rest of the day essentially trolling the president on social media. First, he published a column on the Web site of Real Clear Politics under this headline: "Welcome to Wisconsin, Mr. President," and then fired off a series of anti-Obama tweets.

Let's compare Walker's style now and the way he ran for student body president...he hasn't changed:

Earlier in the week, our micromanaging governor made sure he could brutally and unmercifully go after his opponents with reckless abandon. Although Walker has no "official role" with his PAC, we're not stupid. Cap Times:

Scott Walker catches criticism from conservatives for Unintimidated PAC's hire of adviser: The Unintimidated PAC, set up by former Walker campaign staffers, announced on Tuesday that Brad Dayspring would join the team as a senior adviser. Dayspring, a former communications director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, has ruffled the feathers of more than a few conservatives. The news of his hiring led some to openly question Walker's judgment, even though the governor has no official role with the PAC.

"Gov. Walker should have known better than to hire Brad Dayspring, the worst GOP anti-conservative hit man in Washington," said Brent Bozell, the conservative chairman of ForAmerica and president of the Media Research Center. "Brad Dayspring has a despicable record using character assassination to besmirch the reputations of conservative candidates and public policy leaders. He’s paid to do the ugly work of the Washington establishment. He is the personification of everything that’s wrong in politics today. Gov. Walker, people are policy. If you want conservatives’ support, you need to get rid of this cretin immediately."

In 2012, Politico described him as "one of the House Republican Conference’s savviest and most controversial operatives," In his role as NRSC spokesman, Dayspring drew the ire of Democrats for calling Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes "an empty dress" and comparing her to a high school freshman. Dayspring said Lundergan Grimes parroted talking points, babbled incoherently and stared blankly into the camera when asked questions.

The same year, Rep. Tom Cotton, an Arkansas Republican, broke from the NSRC to denounce comments Dayspring had made about Cotton's opponent, Sen. Mark Pryor's faith. Cotton called an email Dayspring sent ripping Pryor for statements he'd made about his faith "incredibly bizarre and offensive."

A writer for the conservative site, RedState, went after Walker for his newly established Dayspring ties.

"Scott Walker just dropped off my list of acceptable candidates," wrote RedState writer Streiff. "I like a lot about Governor Walker but people are policy. And his decision to hire Brad Dayspring, an unprincipled political operative who combines viciousness and incompetence in equal measures tells us a lot."

John Hawkins, owner of Right Wing News, tweeted, "For @ScottWalker to hire someone like Brad Dayspring is a slap in the face to grassroots conservatives. It speaks poorly of his character."

Lawrence O'Donnell and Chuck Todd took a look at Walker, with Todd making the claim Democrats would like nothing better than to run against Scott Walker. Todd also said Walker's fight with the UW is the reason he's taking a hit in the polls:

Fact # 1: Democrats make things better, Republicans don't.

Republicans will continue to win elections by souring Americans on the economy; lower wages foster resentment and keep people from sharing in the recovery.

So despite a rather brisk economic recovery, the public overwhelmingly disagrees with the way Obama has managed it. You can thank the fabricated and constant GOP attacks. And yet, the following figures overwhelmingly show Obama killing Bush's supply side recovery. The facts don't lie, but Republicans do:

I have to laugh though, because even these figures will spur on an avalanche of tweets asking me to "prove" my point with facts. Kinda makes you wonder what the right considers a "fact," not that anyone should spend much time trying to burst their bubble. It ain't gonna happen.

But reality seekers rejoice, here are some of the details. This is just a FYI, and something to pack away until Democrats are called on to save the economy again. Mother Jones:

The Obama recovery isn't just a little bit better than the Bush recovery. It's miles better. But here's the interesting thing. This chart looks only at private sector employment. If you want to make Bush look better, you can look at total employment instead. It's still not a great picture: Bush got a nice tailwind from increased hiring at the state and federal level. Obama, conversely, was sailing into heavy headwinds because he inherited a worse recession. States cut employment sharply—partly because they had to and partly because Republican governors saw the recession as an opportunity to slash the size of government—and Congress was unwilling to help them out in any kind of serious way. If you want to credit Bush for his tax cuts and malign Obama for his stimulus program and his regulatory posture, then you have to accept the results as well. And by virtually any measure, including the fact that the current recovery hasn't ended in an epic global crash, Obama has done considerably better than Bush.
