The Southern Strategy Nationwide, Fox News Style.

Rachel Maddow did a great piece on racism in America, and how history is repeating itself on steroids. Amazing comparisons.

Sen. Candidate Ron Johnson: Running on Unbridled Hate

We never had it as good as when the Republicans controlled everything.

Thanks to Uppidy Wisconsin and Forwardlookout.com for this expressive video revealing the unnatural hatred of the Democratic Party, the desire for one party rule (it only works for Republicans) and senate candidate Ron Johnson's SHORT approving answer.

Audience Member: Today I am very, very worried about this country, where it is going. As I study history and look at the historical thing I see right now a liar, a cheat, a criminal, a dishonest person who lied his way into the White House; and we are sitting with a Marxist anti-American, American-hater sitting in the White House, who seems bound and determined to destroy this nation.

Different Audience Member: Rich is that your question?

Audience Member: Yes. Do you agree? Let me finish. My point, I guess what I’m saying it is so important for people like Mr. Johnson who understands this [inaudible] to be elected. It’s important for the people who are out there who don’t understand what this whole thing was about, that they begin to understand so that a Reagocrat[?] like Feingold, ah…Dumocrats like Kagen and others out there are removed from office so that this country gets back on a…gets back on its path. Do you kind of agree with that? (Laughter)

Ron Johnson: I’m not…I’m not going to argue with…arm wrestle you about it.

Breitbart, Desperation, Rabid Racism and the really Ugly Side of Conservatism!

Andrew Breitbart committed political and business suicide with his hit piece on Shirley Sherrod...okay, in most cases that would be true, but we are dealing with Fox News viewers and a tea party hell bent on government free liberty and freedom.

If you've ever had a conversation with someone you suspect to be a little off kilter, than you'll know what I mean when I suggest looking into Breitbart's frantic, intensely shifting eyes. The only thing missing from what looks like a bad case of rabies, is a foaming mouth.

But that's all surfacing, first impression stuff. It's the content of his accusations that is more unsettling and scatter shot. It's also a reoccurring race baiting attack perfected by George Wallace. Check out the compilation of comments and analysis below:

Unemployed Freeloaders? Is that anything like Uninsured Liberty loving Tea Partiers?

Governor Reagan: a few of his quotes of the time:

"Unemployment insurance is a pre-paid vacation for freeloaders."

California Governor Ronald Reagan, in the Sacramento Bee, April 28th, 1966.

"[Medicaid users]… are a faceless mass, waiting for handouts."

Ronald Reagan, in 1965. (His description of Medicaid recipients.)

"We were told four years ago that 17 million people went to bed hungry every night. Well, that was probably true. They were all on a diet."

The End of the Democratic Party! We're all Right Wingers Now When it comes to the Bush Tax Cuts?

Delay repeal of the Bush tax cuts, and increase our deficit by $3 trillion??? I'm can't believe this is even an issue being kicked around by the Democrats. That's right, Democrats, who are apparently in their last throws as a party. To be honest, I'm really POed right now:

AP: With the most sweeping tax cuts in a generation due to expire in January, the Democrats are divided over whether the government can afford to make any of them permanent — especially with voters increasingly upset over the fast-rising
federal budget deficit.

Democratic leaders want to let the cuts for the wealthiest Americans expire. The Democrats want to extend them for everyone else, but perhaps only temporarily, out of concern for the rising red ink … Passing only a temporary extension would open majority Democrats to claims they are planning middle class tax hikes in the future

If you talk to the tea party protesters, they would be happy doing away with the deficit, even if it means giving up their own Bush tax cuts…just kidding. They are probably completely oblivious to the fact that cutting the deficit would come out of their own pocket.

Obama's plan would cost $2.5 trillion over the next decade (which includes) the cost of an annual fix that spares the middle class from being hit with the Alternative Minimum — a hit of about $3,700 a year. It would cost $2.9 trillion over the next decade to extend all the tax cuts, including AMT relief, according to estimates from the Tax Policy Center, a Washington think tank.
It's a big difference, but still adds $2.5 trillion dollars over ten years. I wonder if conservatives would go along with keeping their tax cut knowing it's going to jack up the deficit? The other BIG rub? Check out this report from MSNBC:

It's outragous.
Some rank-and-file Democrats are arguing to extend all the tax cuts, including those for high earners, for a year or two, until the economy recovers.
Adding credibility to David Frum's warning to conservatives, the GOP has a huge problem.

Republican leaders have opposed much smaller spending bills that would add to the national debt — most recently a $34 billion extension of unemployment benefits …But they endorse more federal BORROWING to make all the tax cuts permanent.

Some Democrats like the idea of forcing Republicans to vote on a bill that would extend tax cuts for middle- and low-income families while leaving the tax rates to increase for high earners. GOP lawmakers say they will try to amend the bills to extend all the tax cuts.

But if they are unsuccessful, would Republicans vote against tax cuts for the middle class? "It's kind of a conundrum," Grassley said. "I'm not sure I can answer your question." Rep. Dave Camp said it would be difficult to block a bill extending middle class tax cuts, even if it doesn't stop tax rates from increasing for high earners. "I'll probably vote for it myself," Camp said.

I see an obvious strategy developing, don't you?

Breitbart; Next Great Reporter? Yes, According to Shocking MSNBC Puff Report that never mentions Deceptions. It's the Death of Journalism.

My jaw dropped after watching this feature profile of Andrew Breitbart, where reporter Mara Schiavocampo completely skipped over his role in ACORN, the eventual innocence of ACORN, and the deceptive editing that resulted in Shirley Sherrod's firing at the AG Department. He's a hero of the right and a flawless reporter in the media. Welcome to the pliant, everything is relative media.

I wish I were kidding. Warning, you'll be screaming at the monitor soon.

Conservative Activist Justices in Wisconsin Expanding Authority in State.

According to one Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice, Shirley Abrahamson, the conservative majority "improperly extends the authority of the Supreme Court."

That would translate into "activism," or legislating from the bench. At the least, it undermines the arbitration process in the case below, by keeping in place everything except job reinstatement, which would have probably worked itself anyway. Guess we needed the courts decree, their authoritative decision.

AP: Home improvement chain Menard Inc. does not have to reinstate a female executive who was fired after complaining about her pay, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled … On a 4-3 decision The court agreed with Menard's argument that the relationship between Dawn Sands and the company was so irretrievably damaged, there is no way she could establish an attorney-client privilege and work there again. "By accepting reinstatement, Sands would be forced to violate her ethical obligations as an attorney," Justice Michael Gableman wrote for the majority.
Do you think that might have occurred to Sands, or as the conservative court presumed, that she might have been unaware of "her ethical obligations as an attorney." Demeaning and condescending a bit, huh?

A state appeals court ruling that upheld the arbitration panel's order reinstating Sands to her position earning at least $175,000 annually after it concluded Sands had been paid less than male employees and she was fired for asserting her rights to equal pay.
This wasn't just someone who found herself getting paid less than male employees either:

In her discrimination claim, Sands alleged "Menard family officers" engaged in "mafia-like conduct" and John Menard's conduct was "so monstrous and reprehensible that it shocks the conscience," court records said.
It goes without saying, but the liberal activist justices would have left the judgment up to the existing process:

In the dissent, Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson said the decision sets a bad precedent that undermines the arbitration process and improperly extends the authority of the Supreme Court.

Politically motivated, not to mention "Misleading" Statements, Justice Dept. Decides No Prosecution for Attorney Firings.

And so it ends. "Misleading" is now technically not lying in legal terms in the United States. As defined by Wordweb, misleading means: "Designed to deceive or mislead either deliberately or inadvertently …Give false or misleading information to."

As of 2010, misleading, deceiving or giving false information does NOT rise to the level of criminality. Our legal system has really gone into the crapper.

NY Times: A special prosecutor has decided not to bring any criminal charges in connection with the firing of a United States attorney in 2006 … Ms. Dannehy concluded that while the politically motivated firing of Mr. Iglesias violated Justice Department principles, it was not a crime and did not warrant criminal charges. She also concluded that misleading statements made by the former attorney general, Alberto R. Gonzales, and others at the Justice Department did not rise to the level of a crime, according to a summary of the investigation sent to Congress by the Justice Department.
With our activist state and federal supreme court justices, our federal legal system has also dumbed down and relaxed what we used know as justice. Maybe this is what conservatives mean by freedom and liberty.

Wisconsin Candidate Johnson Brazen Hypocrite About Frivolous Lawsuits.

Despite the cavalcade of Republican AG's pressing an election year frivolous lawsuit challenging health care reform, paid for by state taxpayers dealing with massive deficits, they don't have a problem hypocritically claiming Democrats are wasting federal taxpayer money challenging the Arizona "Show me your papers" law. Here's what candidate and challenger to Sen. Russ Feingold, Ron Johnson, had to say about defending the constitution against such a discriminatory law in a recent press release:

In yet another demonstration of his fiscal recklessness and disdain for the wishes of the Wisconsin people, Senator Russ Feingold voted against an amendment that would have barred federal funds from being used in any lawsuit seeking to overturn the Arizona immigration law.

“Despite claiming to be a fiscal hawk, Senator Feingold brazenly supports using taxpayer dollars to fund a federal lawsuit to overturn Arizona’s law ... Maybe it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Russ Feingold, an attorney, supports just another frivolous lawsuit."
The only response to multimillionaire Ron Johnson's hypocritical claim is something we used to say on the playground in elementary school, "I know you are but what am I?"

Terrell Siding Ad Sells Siding and Roofs, along with a little Social Engineering, "Let's End this Secular Socialism Right now"

"I'm a Oklohoma conservative Christian business man, who stands for liberty and freedom, so let's end this secular socialism right now. And remember, for the very best siding...."

Don't you love it? No real issues or solutions, just liberty and freedom, defeating secular socialism...whatever that is.

Milwaukee Independent candidates slogan... "Not the Whiteman's Bitch"

Leshuh Griffin's frank, self description will not be allowed to "inform" voters. Go figure.

An independent candidate running for the state Assembly in Milwaukee won't be able to describe herself on the ballot using the statement "NOT the 'whiteman's bitch.'"

State law allows independent candidates to have five words describing them placed after their name on the ballot. Ieshuh Griffin argued that the phrase was protected free speech. But the state Government Accountability Board said Wednesday that the statement was pejorative and not allowed.

But believe it or not, it was close…
The board is composed of white, retired judges. Three of them voted to allow the description but two did not. She needed four votes. Griffin says she will seek an injunction in federal court.
AP wrote the slogan this way: "NOT the 'whiteman's b----.'" Are they kidding? Still the panel of white judges appeared to appreciate Ieshuh's originality.

(One board member and) a retired state appeals court judge, said he didn't find the wording to be "particularly offensive." (Another agreed.) "She says a lot in five words. It wasn't pornographic, it wasn't obscene and I didn't interpret it as racial."

(Still another, the board chairman, said) "Isn't she saying, 'I'm not under the white man's direction? I'm independent of that.' Isn't that what she's saying?"

Yes, that's exactly what she was saying.
Ieshuh: "I'm not making a derogatory statement to a group of people or an
ethnic group," she told the board. "I'm saying what I am not. It's a term the constituents identify with."
I'm just saying... Check out how she pleads her case based on historical references, at Wisconsin Eye

Please Paul Ryan, run for president. Your "Road Map" is so...not covered by the Media.

With so many heaping praise on an incredibly flawed, distasterous economic plan that doesn't get the media criticism it deserves, is it any wonder there is talk of Rep. Paul Ryan running for president (or least VP) in 2012. From the ass kissing, no questions asked Weekly Standard, comes this puff piece of sweetness:
Like a number of conservatives in Washington and 13,496 fans on Facebook, Pamela Wolffe thinks Republican congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin should run for president. "He is my ideal candidate," Wolffe, apsychiatrist in Ryan's district, told me during last night's Wallworth County GOP boat trip on Lake Geneva, located an hour southwest of Milwaukee.
That says a lot about some psychiatrists, doesn't it. Economics not being one of their strong suits. Remember when Obama health the health care summit with Republicans? Ryan took on Obama with wonky numbers and didn't mention many of the cliched talking points voiced by his fellow GOP panelists. That performance passed as a "sparring" match:
Ryan's popularity among Republicans has surged following his sparring matches with President Obama on health care. And as the issues of debt and the economy rank among the top of voters' concerns, now may be the moment for Ryan and his Road Map.
His "Road Map?" Yes, let's take a look at that Dickensian plan at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

The Ryan plan would cut in half the taxes of the richest 1 percent of Americans — those with incomes exceeding $633,000 (in 2009 dollars) in 2014. The higher one goes up the income scale, the more massive the tax cuts would be.

About three-quarters of Americans — those with incomes between $20,000 and $200,000 — would face tax increases.

The plan would shift tax burdens so substantially from the wealthy to the middle class that people with incomes over $1 million would face much lower effective tax rates than middle-income families would. That is, they would pay much smaller percentages of their income in federal taxes.

Because of the Ryan plan’s enormous tax cuts for the affluent, even the very large benefit cuts that the plan would make in Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security — and the plan’s middle-class tax increases — would not put the federal budget on a sustainable course for decades. The federal debt would soar to about 175 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) by 2050.

In contrast, most fiscal policy analysts recommend that the debt-to-GDP ratio be stabilized within the next ten years, and at a far lower level.

Not a welcome future. But how can over 13,000 Facebook fans be wrong. And besides, Ryan is so lovable:

"I want to be a normal person," Ryan continued. "Other people can run for that thing. Other people can’t do this," he said, pointing to one of his three young children sipping a kiddie cocktail.

Let's Debate a Constitutional Amendment, says Republican Governor Hopeful

Jobs, jobs, jobs? Not if Wisconsin gets a Republican governor. Instead, it looks like Scott Walker will encourage getting side tracked by every "hot issue" he can possibly think of. For example:

WTAQ: Both major Republican candidates for governor say they would not raid specialized state funds to balance other parts of the budget. That’s after the Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that it was unconstitutional to transfer $200 million paid into a state fund by doctors for the purpose of covering settlements in malpractice suits.

Mark Neumann said he would reject any such raids if he’s elected. His Republican primary opponent, Scott Walker, promised to support a constitutional amendment to prohibit all transfers of specialized funds.

Anyone want to debate a constitutional amendment and whatever else comes up for 2 or 3 years? It makes great media BS for conservative talk.

Watch Greenspan Admit, a few years ago, How Flawed the Current Economic platform by the GOBP is.

Just so there is no mistake, Voodoo economics has been a disaster, and that's not just my opinion. Take a look at this open admission from Alan Greenspan...

And yet, even after admitting that there is a major flaw in the whole idea of a deregulated free market system, Republicans are running on the theory no one will remember, and taking advantage of the angry tea party anti-American government movement.

New Look.....

I found the old Democurmudgeon template didn't allow me to add new links and sharing capabilities, so a change was needed. I think the revamped site looks pretty good. Hey, blogger keeps changing, and so must I.

I've always tried to make it clean, easy to read, and not (too) distracting.

I hope I've been successful.

Thanks....

Extension of Unemployment Insurance only thing left in JOBS BILL. Tsunami of Jobless coming in Fall in Time for Elections.

Beside unemployment checks, everthing else was negotiated away in a jobs bill that could have saved millions of families the heartbreak and fear of not having an income.

There's a lot of BS going around about how "economic uncertainty" has stopped supply side capitalists from hiring and making new products. It's a pathetic excuse to explain why supply side economics isn't happening right now. But what about the economic uncertainty felt by Americans who fear they may lose their jobs due to the continued mismanagement of Republican lawmakers?

Take a look at what could have been in the bill to keep Americans working.

Do you Believe in the mythical "Fiscal Conservative?" The numbers don't lie....

Rep. Mike Pence Okay with Facing Unemployed Voters, hell, they'll understand he's doing it for them.

Try as he might, Chris Matthews couldn't get Rep. Mike Pence to well up one tear for the jobless who were still not getting their unemployment insurance check. Do ya think these guys actually know that employees pay into the insurance program all their lives, and like any insurance, it pays out when you need it? Especially during a Great Recession, when we have one job for every five applicants.

This clip shows just how brutally removed the GOP is from the tough realities of their economic handy work. No wonder they want to do it all again, it really isn't as bad as people are making it out to be.
