Citizen Action's "Radio Active" Milwaukee Campaign shakes up Walker wingnut media Lapdog Media Trackers.

Citizen Action has taken on the Herculean task of trying to get liberal talk radio into the Milwaukee market. JS:

...try to find the money to buy their own radio station and create a progressive format to give more voices a say. The effort is led by the grass-roots organization Citizen Action of Wisconsin.

Media Tracker's Brian Sikma's piece, "Citizen Action Declares War on Conservative Talk Radio," suggests any criticism or challenge to conservative radios monopoly in Milwaukee is a declaration of war. So much for Citizen Action's 1st Amendment right to speak out and call into question their market dominance.

You have to wonder why Sikma is so defensive. You'd think he had something to hide. Does he have a problem with competition, the supposed backbone of free market conservatism? The conservative media elite's radio monopoly in Milwaukee, and their liberal radio blackout, does need some explanation. But Sikma took a pass.

Sikma appearance on WPR's Joy Cardin Show should have been focused on the title of his article, "Citizen Action Declares War on Conservative Talk Radio." For 20 minutes, Sikma talked up diversity and a liberal presence, even though he called it a "war on conservative talk radio" in his article.

Oh, and did you know, Milwaukee's "diverse opinions" are only on the right:

"There is a diversity of viewpoints on a variety of issues. They might not be touting what might be considered progressive or liberal ideas, but when it comes to prescriptions for what conservatives in state government should do when it comes to looking at candidates for public office, there is certainly a diversity of viewpoints."

Right Wing Authoritarian Pretzel Logic: Sikma inadvertently admitted that the conservative leaning Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is actually liberal because it has at times been skeptical of Scott Walker's policies. So if the media isn't completely on board with Scott Walker's agenda, any analysis of the facts running counter to Walker must be politically charged liberalism? Media Tracker Embarrasses itself with Clueless Attack on DPW's Graeme Zielinski

Thank you Media Trackers, for another jaw dropping post. In their quest to twist reality around just enough to fit down their Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole, they sometimes miss badly. Here’s a screen capture of their latest mind numbing folly:

Collin Roth sums up his partisan attack this way, missing his own acknowledgement that Democrats are "pro-choice," meaning we offer...choice:

So just to be clear, Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesman Graeme Zielinski claims that he “hates abortion,” despite being the spokesman for a party that represents nearly every pro-choice politician in America and receives millions of dollars in support from Planned Parenthood and EMILY’s List. But the very next day, Zielinski is claiming that Rep. Paul Ryan is a “cafeteria Catholic” whom “practicing Catholics should be angry with” for “wrapping himself in a faith he controverts with his public life.” Perhaps this all makes sense to Zielinski. But he might be the only person.

My own concept of when life begins is at viability. But God is even clearer in Genesis:

Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Boy, you guys just don't get it. Democrats have been saying over and over the word and concept of "choice."

Is Media Trackers so desperate for "gotchas" that you chanced running this story hoping no one would notice? Looks like (another comment) Edward Perkins bought into hook, line and sinker.

Zielinski is like many Democrats, he believes in choice, not the normal hard line offered by Republicans. He's pointing out the hypocrisy of conservatives edicts. We aren't hard line Catholics, or zealot fundamentalists. Graeme can believe what he likes. Apparently conservatives can't. The churches position on contraception and abortion isn't referenced in the bible. That's why the right wing is so adamant about establishing when life begins, it’s a control/power thing. The authoritarian Catholic Church traditions were developed to control the flock. There's a reason Martin Luther split from the church.

The phony outrage or utter cluelessness of your story here should be an embarrassment. Thanks for the material.

More "Low Road" Rage by Media Trackers, who wants a break from Nations Shocked Outrage over Newtown Tragedy!

Brian Sikma, the sick son-of-a-bitch who wrote the following vacuous trash for Media Trackers, couldn’t have been crasser condescending to those who demand “domestic tranquility,” and aren't getting it with gun lunacy.

This low life started out blasting One Wisconsin Now, for blaming pro-gun, constitutional carry/no regulation zealots and the NRA for the gun crisis. Dah, you think? But Sikma is so sensitive to the rights of gun hobbyists:

Even as the details were still being made public about the Connecticut school shooting tragedy last Friday, one liberal Wisconsin group was going all out to politicize the event. Without so much as an expression of condolence for the survivors and families of the slain victims, One Wisconsin Now and its executive director, Scot Ross, engaged in profanity laced rants about Republican office holders, suggesting the shooting was a result of their positions on gun issues.

Unlike Sikma, normal Americans were profoundly shaken by the events in Newtown, and weren't going to take it anymore:

Following the tragedy, the group asked their supporters on Facebook to “bomb” U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R – Wisconsin) with phone calls on the matter of gun control. The violent theme of the request was jarring in the context of the unbelievable loss of life.

Insensitive or ginned up phony outrage by Sikma? Sikma continued to careen down the low road by supposedly “setting aside” a time for reflection, which in conservative world means give us time to fill the media with bullshit so nothing gets done. I don’t remember Sikma’s outrage over Republican trash talk about Benghazi just moments after the tragedy:

Policy debates will come in the wake of the killing spree as elected officials and citizens look to prevent a repeat of the tragedy. But on the day of the tragedy it would have been utterly appropriate for both sides of the gun debate to set aside their thoughts, their opinions, and offer the deepest and most sincere condolences to those suffering. Immediately using for political purposes the suffering and heartache of an entire community looking for comfort amidst a heart wrenching tragedy is classless and disrespectful.

Media Trackers and Sikma ride the low road often, but this, at the expense of 20 first graders, is their lowest. 

Media Trackers spies on citizens, publicly intimidates them, to protect Walker.

Stand with Walker thugs would be very happy if recall Walker supporters hid out of sight, and were intimidated enough to never question authority again. Fat chance.

The subversive right wing all Seeing Eye of Mordor, MediaTrackers, can’t cook up the conspiracies fast enough. This time they think the John Doe investigators are out to railroad their leader and potentially criminal governor and his henchmen. Their proof? A recall Walker sign in the investigators lawn.

The sign was posted by Chief investigator David Budde’s wife, who’s a county employee. Apparently, Media Trackers expects her to be silent. This is no joke. The brown shirted thugs at Media Trackers intentions are pretty obvious, they know where you live, and they’re watching. 

Tell you what, when Justice Clarence Thomas recuses himself from the cases his wife Ginni and her tea party losers are actively involved in, I’ll consider listening to these jackbooted authoritarians. 

TMJ4: A conservative group is questioning the lead investigator, arguing a sign in his yard is a sign he can't be impartial. To drive by that house, you'd know someone isn't a Governor Scott Walker fan.  The issue for some is the house is owned by David Budde -- the chief investigator in the John Doe investigation. Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm released a statement saying he talked to Budde about the sign.  Budde claims his wife, a county employee, put the sign in their yard.  Chisholm defended Budde, saying in part, "any decisions related to the John Doe investigation are based on the evidence and not on the political views of any member of this office or their families."

We all know how politically active conservative judges and justices are. The same goes for Sheriff Clarke, but that’s okay. Yet any hint of Democratic support? You’re harassed and under Media Trackers surveillance.  Before knowing anything about Budde’s wifes, or her right to associate and vote, they assumed David was guilty.

Budde’s anti-Walker sentiments are quite strong. He has given small campaign contributions to John Chisholm in the past, and his wife, also a county employee (as of February) but not employed in the District Attorney’s office, signed the Walker recall petition … it remains to be seen what will happen to David Budde, the chief investigator, now that he has been found openly promoting the political defeat of a person whose name has repeatedly been mentioned in relation to the investigation.

Grow up.

Conservative Brownshirts at Media Trackers expands New American Blacklist to Democratic Milwaukee DA’s office.

So what happens when you find your name on the Republican blacklist? Vilification in the public square? Are you grouped together with all the other liberal anti-American dissenters? Will you ever be able to run for office or get a job somewhere?

Or will those who didn’t sign the recall petitions actually be the ones dragged into conservative detention centers indefinitely for supporting the iron fist of the authoritarian administration fixated on blacklisting all dissenters? Can we use their support of Walker as a weapon against them in the future, if by some weird twist, Wisconsinites notice one day they’re living in a despotic society?

We ignore these fringe groups at own peril:

WTMJ: A conservative research group Media Trackers says several dozen employees in Democratic Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm's office signed recall petitions for Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

But Chisholm's top aide says none of the prosecutors who are overseeing a long-running investigation of Walker's current and former aides were among those who signed the recall petitions.

Media Trackers identified 43 people in Chisholm's office … It says one was a deputy district attorney and 19 were assistant district attorneys. The list also includes secretaries and other clerical staff.

You too might be on the black list someday for...well, I guess we'll have to wait and see. 

Conspiracy Theories, by “non-partisan” conservative Media Trackers Abound. Prosser victim again due to attack by liberal Judicial Commission?

I couldn’t help but compile just one day of headlines and stories from the Media Trackers web site, to illustrate the rank paranoia of far right wing fringe elements that have made their home in Wisconsin.

These are real stories? Really? 

The campaign to portray liberals and Democrats as seditious traitors is nothing short of bizarre. But to ignore this escalating vilification is to give in to the authority, and voluntarily watch this experiment in democracy die. Over stated? 

Take the Prosser/Bradley case; no matter how you package it, conservative Justice David Prosser grabbed the neck of his fellow liberal leaning justice. Despite not reaching the point of criminality, it still violated the state’s judicial code, but...:

Prosser Investigation Led by Democrat With Ties to Abrahamson: Last year Prosser was investigated after the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism ran a thinly-sourced piece accusing him of putting fellow justice Ann Walsh Bradley in a “chokehold”…

A “thinly-sourced” report...that was true? Crazy stuff, but like any authoritarian power would tell you, dissent will not be tolerated. If you’re a part of the Democratic Party, you’re not impartial like...you know, the Republicans are. Even the polarizing ones:

Media Trackers found that the commission is stacked with Democrats and individuals with political ties that call into question their competence to impartially review the actions of a polarizing conservative jurist. At least two members of the Judicial Commission have a history of giving to Democrats or liberals … That fact, plus the consideration that the lead investigator on the case is a highly partisan individual, casts doubt around the process and the conclusions that those leading it may have decided to reach.

That highly partisan lead investigator out to get Prosser? He's defending the Scott Walker aide who is charged with 4 felony counts of illegally campaigning on the taxpayer dime, Kelly Rindfleisch. How dare he…?
