GOP lawmaker lashes out at Capitol Police after investigation of alleged threat ends without charges.

If only a paranoid gun loving Republican lawmaker like Rep. Adam Jarchow could just arrest people when he imagines he's been rubbed the wrong way, you know, send out a warning shot free speech will not be tolerated.

An investigation into an inflammatory social media post by a Houlton man that was flagged by a Republican lawmaker as potentially threatening has ended with no charges. Capitol Police contacted Garry Fay, 60, after an aide to Jarchow alerted them to a social media post in which Fay was critical of Jarchow’s support for an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle. Fay was reacting to a previous Twitter message from Jarchow in which he stated he loved his AR-15.

As you can see, Jarchow is real sensitive-like when it comes to high school students nationwide demanding a ban on military weapons!

This is the supposed "threat," which was basically shooting off a few rounds...with no mention of shooting at people. Unless that's what guys like Jarchow automatically think:

“Is he saying he wants us to visit his children’s school with AR 15s and lots of magazines to shoot off a few rounds to prove we love the 2nd amendment as much as he does?” Fay wrote. “Then we should shoot up his church and home and finally go gonzo on Congress itself?”

Fay told a police officer he posted the comment because he was disturbed by Jarchow’s Twitter message given “everything going on in the world,” according to a Capitol Police report. The officer responded that Fay’s social media comment could be taken the wrong way and interpreted as a threat. Fay said he didn’t own any guns and never planned to own any. “Capitol Police investigated the incident and determined the Facebook post was not a credible threat.”

Having visited Jarchow's twitter page, man, this guy's got anger issues...keep guns out of his hands. I'm requesting police do that now:

In a series of tweets Thursday afternoon, Jarchow criticized Capitol Police for not contacting him after it concluded its investigation and called it a “bozo operation. I guess now you can threaten the family of public officials so long as when the cops ask about it, you say ‘just kidding. The moronic things people get tickets for and this (expletive) gets zip? Next time I hope he says it to my face.”

That a "threat?" Maybe then you can use your AR 15, right? Again, why isn't someone flagging Jarchow's tweets as possible threats so police can take away his weapons?

Republican Rep. Jarchow not happy with uncluttered pristine Shorelines not making someone a big profit.

Rep. Adam Jarchow either lied or changed his mind dramatically about protecting Wisconsin's waterways for future outdoor enthusiasts. Who knew he would be protecting developers from the public's use of our lakes and rivers. On an ironic note, Jarchow is a graduate of Clear Lake High School.

In and act of Bizarro World logic, Jarchow said he would defended Wisconsin's outdoor heritage, all the while making numerous attempts to trash it:

Many of us love living here because we love hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing and just spending time outdoors. As an avid hunter and fisher, Adamunderstands that we must protect and defend our unique rural character. This means protecting our woods and protecting our waters.

I caught this interesting audio quote by Jarchow on WPR this morning, a moment the public might be shocked to hear from someone "protecting our waters:"

Democratic Rep. Gary Hebl: "We've got every single environmental organization against this bill, doesn't that say something to you?"

Republican Rep. Adam Jarchow: "Doesn't!"

Democratic Rep. Gary Hebl: "Ok."

Now that's a real public servant. Jarchow's bill to plunder Wisconsin's waterways is backed by lobbyists and outside corporate special interests like Americans for Prosperity, Wisconsin Realtors Association, and the Wisconsin Builders Association. It's crazy not to steer business profits to the few developers who want the shoreline properties to themselves, and to the real estate agents who can sell it for fat commissions.

The Wisconsin Wetlands Association says the bill would allow too much dredging of wetlands along the edge of a lake and reduce protection of wetlands not under federal control. Pam Biersach, director of the bureau of watershed management, said some language appears to conflict with federal regulations concerns and others raised by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers...

Big Government Republicans piling up new rules and regulations, this time criminalizing photographs and videos of Hunters!!

There's nothing small about Big Government Republicans. Take for example this new possible regulation:

Could carrying a camera in a state park cost you thousands of dollars in fines and nine months in jail? Yes, if Wisconsin’s new “Right to Hunt” bill, which was introduced last week by Republican state Rep. Adam Jarchow, becomes law.

Goodbye freedom and Liberty: If you thought expanding gun play in college classes was a sop to the NRA and knuckle dragging gun addicts, wait till you see this nutting ass kissing bill for hunters:

A group called Wolf Patrol, which in recent months has attempted to document and monitor the trapping and hunting of wolves, bears, and other wildlife in Wisconsin … is nonconfrontational.

The proposed bill, however, would criminalize photographing or videotaping hunters, as well as what it calls “impeding a person who is engaged in an activity associated with lawful hunting.” It would also cover any “acts that are preparatory to lawful hunting, fishing, or trapping.” 

Wow, and this isn't even an Onion article. And what might come as a shock to pocket constitutional conservatives, this might have trouble Constitutionally, since pictures and video has nothing to do with hunting:

Justin Marceau, the Animal Legal Defense Fund professor of law at the University of Denver: “The idea you’re going to regulate who can take photos on public land is pretty shocking. You don’t see laws like that anywhere in the free world.” Marceau said components of the bill covering areas “preparatory” to hunting were also unusually broad.

We've also added the right to hunt into our Constitution, but sadly, they left off the right not to be photographed or recorded. What were they thinking?

Right to fish, hunt, trap, and take game. Section 26. [As created April 2003] The people have the right to fish, hunt, trap, and take game subject only to reasonable restrictions as prescribed by law.

Republican Fiscal Clowns Propose Politically Filtered Audits.

So, Republican voters would rather not know if their hard earned money is being spent wisely by their party leaders? I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised after seeing how easy it was for Walker to just keep borrowing money for transportation with no constituent outrage.

I also wondered why I didn’t hear a peep out of “stand with Walker” trolls when Scottie wanted to change WEDC again, but this time with no financial oversight whatsoever.  

When that happened, Walker and his band of legislative pirates took their cue, and thought, “what the heck let’s get rid of the Legislative Audit Bureau.” After-all, they catch bad management after the fact, when it’s too late, embarrassing for them, at when no one cares anymore. Check out the pretzel logic:

Wisconsin Republicans propose abolishing the Legislative Audit Bureau: The Legislative Audit Bureau has been the source of some bad news lately for Republicans and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation they created in 2011. Now, two GOP lawmakers have a solution: eliminate the bureau.

State Reps. David Craig and Adam Jarchow, are looking for co-sponsors for their proposal to abolish the audit bureau and replace it with independent inspectors general who would be placed in state agencies … an email the two representatives sent to fellow lawmakers; "Unfortunately, the statutory process under which the LAB operates focuses more on retrospective examination rather than proactive fiscal action and bad practice deterrence. In many instances, by the time an audit has occurred the political will (or new legislative composition) necessary to change a state program has diminished." In recent years, the audit bureau has uncovered numerous problems with the state's flagship job creation agency, which is chaired by Gov. Scott Walker. 

So why not give politicians complete control over the messaging, the audits…or concealment of the data? I'll bet there won't be a peep from the conservative peanut gallery we know as low information voters:

"Why would legislators want to do away with the Legislative Audit Bureau?" said state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, the Democratic caucus vice chair. "Could it be they don't want to know what's happening?" Vinehout said the bill would put audits under the direction of the leaders in the GOP-controlled Legislature, as opposed to the current system of having the LAB overseen by a bipartisan legislative committee. "The breadth of their ignorance of the LAB is staggering," Vinehout said. "It shows a complete unfamiliarity with the skills of the auditors, the efficiencies in government that the LAB helped create, with the fraud, waste and abuse that the auditors have discovered, and further prevented through their oversight."

Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca, D-Kenosha called the proposal one of the worst ideas in a legislative session fraught with bad ideas. “Changing the nonpartisan, award-winning Legislative Audit Bureau into partisan appointees continues the Republican efforts to reduce oversight of state government," he said.

This letter to the editor says it all:

I cannot but express my utter embarrassment to be a registered Republican. Already a rarity in Madison and Dane County, I would hope Republicans would value my vote enough to be mindful that I vote based on rationality and that eliminating a government post in retribution for its doing a good job is one of the most counter-intuitive proposals I have read in years. Politics play a role but when a quality organization such as the LAB is subject to petty attempts at retribution for pointing out the obvious failures of one of the governor’s pet projects, the politics have gone too far.

Esquire columnist Charles Pierce wrote this wonderfully insightful piece: 

First, they went after the state's Government Accountability Board, the eight-year old watchdog agency that, among other things, allowed the citizens to attempt to recall Walker and some of his more conspicuous lapdogs. And now, because it is doing what it is chartered to do, and is investigating whether or not Walker's campaigns illegally coordinated with "outside" groups in his past few campaigns, the pet legislature is proposing to "restructure" it. Keep that phrase in mind.

Then, in the wake of Walker's having been fired from his own economic development corporation, the pack of poodles descended on something called the Legislative Audit Bureau, which was central to demonstrating what a waste of cheap cronyism said agency was. This is especially egregious in this case because Scott Walker never has held a political office that he has not so deformed by his political ambitions that people actually went to jail over it. This is a singularly corrupt man, even by the standards of the our new era of decriminalized influence peddling. He never has run a campaign in his life that wasn't shot through with penny-ante grifting. There is no reason to believe this one is any different.
